Does Rank Update Error really have to block the screen?

There's one aspect of rank update error I haven't seen discussed: why does it have to prevent you from seeing the post-game summary? You can still hear the sound effects of all the information being shown and see tiny bits of it, so you're clearly still in the lobby, and your game has access to the summary.

So why a massive error message that immediately kicks you out as soon as you try to remove it? This annoys me far more than the error itself, as without access to information like the other players' ranks, perks and items it's so much more difficult to reflect on the previous game and improve as a player (not to mention the post-game chat can be nice as well).

Of course I could be mistaken, but to me it seems to like there's no good reason there couldn't be a smaller message, or one that you can acknowledge without being kicked out.
