...my solution to have more players purchase cosmetics and characters.

Hello, I'm BigBrainMegMain and I've found a solution to ease the grind for survivors who are starting, veterans and for players who are completely deterred from buying and/or playing a new character because they start with nothing.

I'll be using myself as an example and if you'd like to use yourself, if this fits your description, write it in the reply section.

This is my actual character list, as you can see I've rarely done purchases and the ones I do have unlocked are not leveled at all. My solution to this is a bit complicated but a simple mechanic so please bare with me. I do not want to put up with a 3-5 Million bloodpoint grind to get on par with my Meg here, it's too much of a hassle. Instead!

Bloodweb3.PNG

All perks and all items are shareable, as you can see my Level 1 David King has full perks and items. I know this idea has been thrown around before but I'm not done yet, I have more.

Every perk you have unlocked will appear in every survivor's perk list, but because you're starting off with a new character every Perk will start locked. You will need to complete 50 Bloodwebs to unlock a Prestige Token and a Tier Token. All Level 1 and recently bought characters will need a Tier Token to unlock their perk usage list.

Bloodweb5.PNG

As you can see from the High Def Professionally Photo-shopped picture, reaching 50 Bloodwebs will give the player 1 Prestige Token and 1 Tier Token. The picture above demonstrates where the Prestige and the Tier tokens would be displayed and how many the player carries.

  1. A Prestige Token is pretty self explanatory, it's usage will Prestige the Character one time, thus unlocking the Tier 1 Bloody Shirt and so on. The player can only carry a maximum of 3 Prestige Tokens. Opening the Shared Bloodweb in the respected character's lobby-screen will prompt the "Increase Your Prestige Level" and allow you to spend 1 Prestige Token and enter your first Prestige. Prestige Tokens can be shared among survivors and killers.
  2. A Tier Token will let the player's new character's perks Tier up from Locked to Tier 1, then Tier 2 and so on. The Maximum Tier tokens a player can carry is 3. Perk Tokens cannot be shared among survivors and killers.

Perks-

When a new perk is bought, or unlocked it will appear in the Shared Bloodweb.

Bloodweb.PNG

Tier 1 of any perk will only be available as Tier 1 in every survivor unlocked with an active Perk List, Tier 2 and Tier 3 will need to be unlocked in the Shared Bloodweb in order for them to be used among all survivors with unlocked Perk Lists.

Items-

Items will have a higher Bloodpoint cost.

Brown - 4k.

Yellow - 5k.

Green - 6k.

Purple - 7k.

Pink - 8k.

The bloodweb and items will be shared among all survivors so their respected costs must increase to compensate the ease of the grind.

Please let me know in the comment section what you think, I've thought and thought about this plan and didn't really want to put this idea out there without sealing all the cracks and the tears I would find along the way.

Sadly, this will not work for killers as killers have completely different Addons than survivors, and in all honesty, an idea like this will get me and more players to purchase more DLC and more cosmetics because the grind deters so many players from purchasing and/or using the new or different characters.

Thank you.

@Peanits Your opinion would most likely be needed please and thank you.

@Almo Yours as well please.

Make the effects of we're gonna live forever and bbq basekit. At the very least make we're gonna live forever do something else besides the bloodpoints.

This only seems to benefit most players who don’t have the majority of perks/items unlocked but would like to have more without having to grind.

Sadly, if any idea like this was implemented, it would defeat much of the purpose of the grind and would cause backlash from most of the player base who have put in thousands of hours unlocking perks and items already.

Just look at what happened when they tried to sneak in the Scorching Summer Cosmetics and Moonrise Year of the Dog Cosmetics into the free cosmetics giveaway.

The Grind is a major complain on the forums, and in my opinion it's a reason why it scares away either new players or players that want to try another survivor. In the new Bloodweb and Perk list, there will still need to be some sort of Grind, you'll need to Grind for your new perks, 150 Bloodwebs to unlock all Perks for 1 Character at Tier 3 or for 3 Characters at Tier 1 Perks.

I hear many discussions on how to cut grind and how it pushes some players back from advancing or putting any work because it seems tedious. The shared item list is a huge help as well.

I agree the Grind is really bad and needs another looking into, but this isn't the solution. The game would have literally no repeatability. The Grind is dumb but it at least has a purpose: keeping people playing. This would nullify almost all repeatability and would kill the game. Personally, just get everyone too 40 as survivor, then level up the one you enjoy using the most. All survivors are reskins anyway so having multiple of them prestige 3 is just a waste of bloodpoints.

This idea would also completely exclude killers as well. I get that killers have different addons, but DBD mobile made a conjoined bloodweb for killers and it works pretty well. It's not perfect but it's better then 800 individual bloodwebs. personally a better solution IMO would be too increase how many bloodpoints are gained in a match. Make each catagory give more bloodpoint cap, like make it 10k instead of 8k.

Also, the Idea of making WGLF and BBQ base is just dumb. It would completely nullify the perks and even with a rework they wouldn't be the same. Those perks have a purpose and it shouldn't be made basekit.
