The New chapter might be Pennywise or Jason from the looks of it
The reason why I say this is because with the info that Paulie has put out and what leaks by daylight have said it kinda makes sense that it is either these two. Scott confirmed that it isn’t Candyman so we can chill for a bit about him. We know it is a licensed character and Dead By Daylight tends to go after Iconic Characters that are very popular and know by most people. Last Year for year 3 we got Ghostface, a character nobody ever thought he would even be released or come to DBD. My money is on Pennywise because Mathieu said before that he has wanted Pennywise in the game for a long time but the holders of Pennywise weren’t interested at the time because they were busy with the Movies at the time. He also said that he has considered Jason to come into the game but the whole mess with Jason lawsuit but hey we never know. At this point anything can come into the game which is making me really excited, what do you guys think?

Why bring another clown in?
6 -
We have two chainsaw killers, and two white masked stalking killers.

This line caught my eye in particular:
"This last chapter is a very emotional milestone for us and we cannot wait to share it with you."
This could be just marketing (which is very likely), but I would think that if they are talking about a licensed Character, it might be Jason. Even tho, I think this is quite unlikely and I would not even know what his powers could be. So probably only marketing.
2 -
A lot of licensed characters get brought in after DbD makes their own version. It's obviously because Pennywise would be more popular.
2 -
why does everyone say he is a clown? That is his favorite thing to form into. He is an entity that can transform into anything.
7 -
Yeah I believe it might be Pennywise because he wanted Pennywise for a long time. I guess it sounds like he accomplished something he never thought he would so that’s were Jason comes in. It could be a Teletubbie for all we know.
1 -
Jason is 100% impossible, there's a lawsuit that prevents it
4 -
I agree, with this current lawsuit battle it wouldn't work
2 -
We already have a clown we don't need another one
0 -
Ok first of all, quit using this argument because it's getting old and overused.
- Pennywise isn't a clown, it's just how he appears. His true form is a spider, he manifests into a clown to pray on people's fears.
- We had hillbilly, who is a chainsaw killer by the way but we got Leather face as well. I don't see a reason why we can have two chainsaw killers but not two "clown" killers.
6 -
Again what Dwight Said, we already have 2 chainsaw killers and 2 stalky bois and besides we don’t have a clown we just have chunky dude in clown makeup with an obsession of the afterpiece tonic.
3 -
Hey you never know anything can be possible
0 -
So you expect them to put a giant spider into the game?
0 -
No, I don't expect them to do that at all. Quite frankly because they've stated that they tried before and it didn't work. What I am expecting is the clown form to come into the game. I was merely stating that Pennywise is a singular entity who's real form is a spider but commonly manifests into a clown. That's why it would make sense for the clown form to come into the game as that's the most iconic part of Pennywise.
2 -
Maybe I misread the original post, but I think it is "emotional" more so because it is the 4th anniversary of the game.
1 -
Argument for Jason would be breakable walls. I mean one of his classic moves is to crash through walls to kill people.
Im biased though.
1 -
Leatherface=Billy
Ghostface=Legion
Demogorgon=Hag
0 -
It's the date for the chapter to hit the PTB
0 -
Y'all do realize only one company holds the rights to the character that would be needed and DbD only needs the character. That much should have been proven obvious with Ghost Face only requiring the outfit and not the rights from Scream.
0 -
Could be possible. I thought he means "Chapter" as "Chapter"; but could also be because of the anniversary.
A reveal, which means something like a Trailer.
0 -
Sorry let me clarify. Breaking walls isnt his power. But the addition of breakable walls could be because of Jason as it is something he does frequently. Its not enough on its own to be a full blown power, at least not the way its currently imolemented.

Yea, the only problem with Pennywise is the fact he is a god, so it doesn't make much sense for The Entity too be able too control a literal god. But the clown argument isn't a good one IMO.
0 -
So just pure speculation then? I haven't seen anything resembling evidence.
0 -
There was an article by bloody disgusting that quoted what Mathieu said about the next chapter being a licensed classic killer, but ok.
2 -
Bloody teletubbie with power beam from their anttenna and you can choose several ones like The Legion lol
0 -
It really depends on what Pennywise they are going for, the 1990 Pennywise or 2017 Pennywise. Didn’t he technically die (the 2017 Pennywise)? If he did they can say something like the entity will grant him a second chance to kill and will bring him back or something like that. I would like to see Pennywise transform to a killer of its choice for 45 seconds making him the strongest killer, which makes sense because he is in the movie but I would like to see what the devs will do with him if we do get him.
0 -
Pennywise can't actually die. The problem with him is that he is so absurdly powerful, that the entity couldn't control him, plus he basically feeds on suffering and fear, which is what the entity does.

How sure are we that it isn't Candyman?
Remember a couple months ago when Tony Todd 'liked' the game on twitter (or whatev) What's up with that? Timing would work.
There's also a new Candyman movie coming out i believe? I'd be fine with Pennywise, but the whole god being held prisoner by another god wouldn't really work..
1 -
Jason is a low chance due to the lawsuit, and Pennywise would be hilarious to see in this game imo
1 -
This 'last' chapter, or the 'latest' chapter?
0 -
Maybe that is evidence of the next killer being a licensed killer but that doesn't mean it will be Pennywise or Jason or anyone else in particular. There are literally dozens of licensed killers that fit that criteria of being "licensed classic killer". It could be Chucky or Pumpkinhead or Pinhead or Jeeper's Creepers or Candyman or Leprechaun or Creature from the Black Lagoon or Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde or the Fly or the Mummy or Carrie or Hannibal Lector or Buffalo Bill or Psycho or any one of a hundred vampire or zombie characters or or or...
They all have an equal chance of being the next killer until more information is released. Btw, this is a link to the article in question:
If you read the article it does say "That “something” includes a reveal of a new chapter with an iconic horror license set for May 26th at 2pm EST." But it doesn't actually quote Mathieu Côté as saying that. They only quote him with some generic stuff about how excited they are for another year of DBD. So yeah, odds are that the next killer is licensed but anything beyond that is pure speculation.

Wouldn't say a fave thing. He feeds off of fear and found that a clown was a fair bet used on children. It made them taste better.
0 -
so we have the Chainsaw Bros and the Red Nose Bros.
0 -
Pennywise's true form isn't a spider. It's a bunch of lights in space. The "spider" is an extension it's using to populate and feed on the people of earth.
0 -
Just did some research and I can confirm that I made a mistake in saying that. My bad <3 but regardless, his true form isn't a clown (or a spider to my surprise o.o) so people saying 'we already have a clown' are wrong because he's not even a clown either lol
1 -
Pennywise is not a god. I mean he was defeated by a bunch of kids for goodness sake lol.
He's a creature that feeds on fear to kill and then goes into hibernation for 27 years.
0 -
Pennywise is kinda like darkseid, he exists in a different dimension and the clown is more of a projection that allows him to interact. He is practically a god.
0 -
Pennywise is not really a clown. He just looks like a clown in the movies because they fear him.
0 -
I don't want Pennywise, Pinhead, or Candyman (thank God it's not him). Jason would be cool but I highly doubt that. I really REALLY want Chuckie but I also highly doubt it's him. IDK there aren't many "good" horror icons left to pick from.
1 -
"Scott confirmed"
Nope he did not.
0 -
So you haven't read the book I see, because it very clearly states that he is a god.
Fun fact: if you just googled "Is pennywise a god" it would tell you that he is. Google is a good service my friend lol.
2 -
What Pennywise doesn't matter because it wouldn't make sense. A god on par with The Entity shouldn't be controlled by The Entity. It makes no sense.
0 -
It's all possible and could be anything. Not Jason though, because of the legal stuff happening, imo.
2 -
There is a big, like... huge difference between someone resembling John Wayne Gacy and a character like Pennywise. Yeah they both wear clown makeup.. there, that's 100% of the similarities. Even in Dead By Daylight, the clown is very human. Concoctions mixed and tossed to catch you. Pennywise is a crazy monster thing that feeds off of the energy of fear, and can do all kinds of supernatural things. That's like saying Jason and Michael are the same killer because both their masks are white. Sirloin and ground beef might both be cow, that doesn't make ground beef a steak ya know?
0 -
We already have Jason as The Trapper and Pennywise as The Clown. This doesnt make sense unless they replace those two characters.
0 -
The legal battle isn't over Jason as a killer. That much is set in stone. The reason the F13 game is in hot water is because the location of Camp Crystal Lake, the title Friday the 13th, and possibly the last name Vorhees are being declared in the US as owned by the original screenwriter. However, that's screenwriter's version of Jason is nothing more than a drowned boy. The version of Jason as a unstoppable hockey mask wearing killer that everybody knows is owned by the studio with no debate. And what do you think DbD would want?
However, the chances that DbD has actually gotten the rights to Jason are still rather small. The studio is probly focused more on the legal issues when it comes to Jason rather than this game. But as long as DbD doesn't try to use Camp Crystal Lake, the title Friday the 13th, or the last name Vorhees; getting a license for the use of Jason would be well within the realm of possibility.

I'm nearly certain it's pennywise
0 -
I have read the book multiple times. Pennywise is not portrayed as a god in the book nor in the movies (which is what the DLC would be based on). He displays no god like powers. Being a shapeshifter and being hundreds of years old doesn't give him god status.
What did he do in the book or the movies that is the equivalent to the Entity's power in this game?

Pennywise would be so much better than candyman
