Do you use charms?

Just asking because about 4/5 players in my games don't. I personally think they were an incredibly stupid addition on the survivor-side. No one can even tell which charm someone has because of how everyone is running around and how they don't even display in SWF lobbies.

Killer charms are okay, imo. Nothing special. I use charms, although I don't really care which I have equipped. More customization, albeit pointless and lackluster. Do you use charms? If so, why?

    I don't.

I have none on my survivors and I have my hooks plain.

I don't see the point of them. I have many unlocked, I just personally find them useless.

Yes I do just to look a bit more fancy compare to the others.

I do, but I always forget I do

I use them, but they just don't really work on the Survivor side.

On the Killer side, they are nice and visible, but I hardly notice them on my Survivors. They need to be a little bigger or something, because they just get lost under jackets and whatnot.

I wear ones that fit the characters. Like brass knuckles on David or the Macmillan mining crest on trapper.

Makes me cringe when I see killer hooks with the Vial, lamp and the iridescent coin. Shows they think there’s some prestige in owning them. Double cringe for those who have already brought out the current rift. Who’d pay 80 dollars (Australian) for a handful of skins everybody is gonna have In a couple months?

I agree with the first part about using stuff that fits the character. Having brass knuckles on Feng Min wouldn't really make sense, for example.

But what's wrong with people buying rift stuff? It's their money and if they want to show off stuff it's their choice. I'm sure Random Trapper #672 doesn't care if you don't like the ultra-rare charms he has on his hook. 😝

Also, they won't have them in a couple months. They will be on the store for purchase with real money, that thing you're super against. Soooo.

On survivor yes, they look pretty good.

On killer, no, gotta keep the hooks looking spooky.

Yeah I do the whole "if they fit the character" thing. Like the Hawaiian Pizza Slice with Pineapple Nea. 😆 I actually really like the coin ones on some characters too. Use the last, the gold, and the bronze ones together.

Omg! That's so cute with the pineapple idea, may I steal it? :)

Yes I do use them on my Dweet. I like them even if they are not super noticeable.

On killer I just put the Halloween pumpkin one on my hooks because I main Michael Myers, and if anyone would have a pumpkin on their hooks its him.

I like putting the final reward for Tome 1 and 2 (and soon 3) on my characters. I'm not sure what I'll do when Tome 4 comes out though.

As a killer it's a nice visual detail and I do like to customise each Killers hook differently just to give me a little bit of a difference from the last 8 pigs you probably went up against. Also it's one of the few bits of cosmetics on The killer's end that I can actually see besides my weapon.

As a Survivor they're incredibly small unnoticeable and I usually don't even remember I have them on. We are how many updates in since the first archives and charms and people have been asking for bigger more noticeable charms on survivors for a while now to literally no avail.

Granted I'm not asking you to make them massive but there should be a lot bigger if you're playing survivor I'd at least like the other survivors and Killer to somewhat see what I have on me. In fact the only person who tends to notice is the killer and that's pretty much only if they're camping you or picking you up other than that it's not really obvious

Not on Blendette (maybe use some dark charm on her )

I do, I really love them. I'm a sucker for cute, pointless souvenir stuff. I like to use the vial, lantern and whichever Tome charm I've most recently acquired (although I'll swap that out for the cube once I finish Rift III). I like their visual design, plus I don't think there's anything wrong with being proud of your achievements.

No. They were cool for like 2 days then I got over them. A lot of other battle passes give WAY better rewards so DBD’s charm really pale in comparison.

What charms?! 🤣 Joking aside... I never notice them. Any cosmetic "upgrades" should be obvious and charms are practically invisible to the untrained eye.

On survivors the Claudette items to tame a wild Claudette in-game. On killer a bonsai to keep my mind at peace during the match.

I like having a little David by my side. It makes me feel safe.

I use 1 or 2 charms on each character. For Killers i mostly use basic charms. The glowing stuff like the lamp from the last archive irritates me if i play Killer.

I don't use anything but the really cool ones. Like the tier 70 charm for this rift, the cube, I think it looks really cool so I'll be using it.

Or, if it's specific to a killer/survivor, I'll probably end up equipping them on the respective killer/survivor.

I love charms, a lil outfit-matching charm on the hip makes me like 10% happier. when they were first announced I was completely amped and, while I'd love to see more unique charms over silly recolors, I can always find a charm or two to suit my booty or my hook.

they're just small collectible trinkets with no practical uses so i understand why some people don't care about them, but idk. I love 'em.

I use them on my Killers, because there they are actually big enough to see them.

And I use them on female Survivors, I dont think they fit male Survivors.

I put only coins on all my survivors. I like how it looks

  • GoodBoyKaru

Yes, on both sides. I think my current ones are the Vial, the David doll, and the Iridescent Coin (I wanted that David skin). As a killer replace the David doll with the Entity Phone (though I'm considering using the phone over the Vial soon). While they're not the most visible in-game, it brings me a stupidly high amount of joy to slam a pallet in a killer's face (or a locker) and see my charms whipping around. On killer they bring a lot less joy since they sit there on hooks, but I still like them.

Yup, I do, generally I equip the ones which are related to the character, and if I don't have them it's either the coolest I unlocked or the ones that better fit my outfit

i do use them but not for any real reason, i think one problem is that some people DC when they see the charms on hooks as this could indicate how good/deadicated a killa is

  • Fog_King
    Fog_King Member Posts: 688

When I remember, I use them, but mostly it's something that I don't even remember. Charms are too small on survivors, but I like them on the hooks.

  • twistedmonkey
    twistedmonkey Member Posts: 4,293

I don't bother with them. They are cool enough and a nice little addition but they don't stick out ebough for me.

As the cosmetic I like to wear has a jacket so it almost covers half of all the charms.

As killer I so put them on the hooks but tbh I never even notice them anymore.

I like fitting to outfits. Like, the vial with any blight outfits. Or just matching event outfit with charm. I like the glowy ones in front of surv so you can see it and I always carry a brand new part and the altruism emblem charms bc they remind me to not be useless. So do gens or help the team at all times.

On hooks I like it to fit the killer mostly, but I mainly put the ones I like.

I did during the last Rift as they were new to me (didn't play DbD during the first Rift) and they seemed like a neat little addition but now I just don't care for them at all. I genuinely forget about them very often and barely notice them when i'm playing either side.

I dont notice them on survivors. I set mine up occasionally. But I do like to see what charms the Killer uses. :)

Yeah I like to make them fit the character too, i.e. when the mobile one came out I put it on GF. Be nice if you could delete/sell all the dull recolours they use to pad out the rift though. Or stop making them (Seriously, no one likes those)

There are VERY few Charms that i actually like the looks of.

Fortunately, there are just enough that i like for me to actually have them on.

So yes, both my Survivors & Killers have all Charm slots filled.
