Speculation on Chapter 16 based on all available evidence
It's no secret anymore that Chapter 16 will be licensed, it's just a question of WHO it will be. I want to look at the biggest names I keep seeing pop up, the clues towards them and the clues against them to fully speculate on who it will be.
Killer 1: The Wolf Man
For
- The code for the chapter is Wales, where the movie takes place.
Against
- The code has literally ZERO influence on who the Killer is. Oni's chapter is under Sweden, while he's from Japan.
- Pretty much everything else.
Killer 2: Jason Voorhees
For
- Mathieu's claim that it is an emotional milestone of a chapter.
- Classic Killer
Against
- The lawsuit. I think we can safely knock Jason off the list for a while.
Killer 3: Xenomorph
For
- I've seen someone say the font of the 4 looks similar to the original Alien movie posters
- Emotional milestone
- Classic Killer
Against
- Font similarities are just as likely pure coincidence, and I also just don't see it.
- This isn't a Demogorgon situation. Xenomorphs have tails, which would have so much more trouble with collision than Demogorgon.
Killer 4: Pinhead
For
- Someone says that the textures remind them of Hellraiser.
- Emotional milestone
- Classic Killer
Against
- Textures are hardly clues.
Killer 5: Pyramid Head
For
- The 4 resembles Pyramid Head's head.
Against
- From what I have seen people say, Pyramid Head is simply a figment of the main character's imagination, or something like that (I've never done anything with Silent Hill, so I wouldn't know)
- Konami are terrible with licensing.
Killer 6: Pennywise
For
- Emotional Milestone
- Classic Killer
- BHVR followed King on Twitter ages ago, and nothing's come from that yet.
Against
- Pennywise is on a power level equal to the Entity. You just can't showcase that in this game.
- King has already said no twice, why would he say yes a third time.
Killer 7: Candyman
For... where do we start?
- Tony Todd followed BHVR shortly after announcing his role in voice acting in video games AND after Candyman's release date was revealed to be in line with BHVR's annversary.
- Tony Todd has retweeted quite a few posts about potential leaks... largely related to Candyman himself, and even retweeted a person asking him something along the lines of if he was going to wear his old coat or a new one.
- Sound files that have been found sound similar to bees, which Candyman uses extensively
- The 4 in the Anniversary teaser is golden, like honey, and is shaped similar to one of his hooks (not the one above, obviously)
- Thomas Purcer, Associate Community Manager at BHVR has tweeted that the "Anniversary is gonna bee pretty sweat!" with a candy emoji following the statement.
Against
- When you think "Classic" killers, does Candyman cross your mind? I mean, he's cool and all, but... he's just not really classic in the same vein as Chucky (who I see no evidence to support) or a Xenomorph.
- Scott Jund has said that "It isn't Candyman." However, on these very forums, he's also stated that he has been wrong about things he knew about.
- Probably the biggest thing... the movie has been delayed. If he is to come out for the Anniversary, the tie-in film can't come with him now. And, if a common theory is correct, he is supposed to be FROM the new movie, with everything related being from there (admittedly, since it is a continuation, that means little for Candyman, but the potential Survivor would be heavily spoiled).
Most of the evidence I can find points towards Candyman. And that's not me being hopeful for him (I'd rather have a Xenomorph). It's an observation based on all of the available evidence, which just screams for him to enter the Entity's realm. But there are just some things that don't add up (again, would his addition REALLY be an emotional milestone?)
Until it is proven otherwise, I cast my speculation on Candyman. And I'll cast my speculation on the Survivor as either Anthony or Anne-Marie McCoy (Anthony because he appears to be the main character of the 2020 film and Anne-Marie because her actress, along with Tony Todd, is one of the only people returning to play their role, I don't think we'll see Helen because of how her character ended, becoming the new Candyman).

IIRC, on April Fool's Day the DBD discord server was taken over by bees. Perhaps that was also a hint?

Personally my theory is a double killer chapter. With two killer it fits everything Mcote has said, because picking only one of the most likely canidates like Candyman or jason, they still don't fit every hint given, but if you put them together they fit every category. It's not likely due too the fact buisnesses would make more money seperate, but it;s just an interesting theory.
My other theory is it's a Resident Evil Chapter with Jill as the survivor and Nemesis or Mr.X being the killer. Resident Evil fits all the clues that the devs have said.
Resident Evil is a classic horror game
It would be a huge emotional milestone since it would be the first video game licensed killer.
It would be a very iconic horror series.
Resident Evil def changed how horror video games were made when it was released, it shook the genre entirely.
And there are so many protagonist with Mysterious backgrounds and ties too Umbrella it fits the "mysterious survivor" hint.
I'm def going with a RE chapter this time around, nothing else fits all the hints that were given, unless some of them where just too throw people off. Also, Xenomorph's tail wouldn't be as bad as you think, make it either part of hit kit like a weapon or make it like ghostface's coat strings.
