A further explanation on the whole Jason/F13 situation. Update to my previous discussion.

@Feiten Listen, I hate F13 the game and its fanboys as much as anybody else, I still remember a time when they all gloatingly came to the Dead By Daylight Steam forums (because the ones we are on now did not exist yet) and all repeated the same tired line "F13 iS gOnNa KiLl DbD!! CaN't WaIt FoR tHiS Sh*tTy gAmE tO DiE hEhE" and then karmic justice rang out a beautiful song as the game released with really bad issues from their dedicated servers and reviews on release paled in comparison to the reviews DBD got on release as it turned out the game kinda sucked. And then it got a little better with the continued support they got, but the final nail in the coffin slammed it shut sealing the game's fate through a lawsuit and people realized F13 would never kill Dead By Daylight. It was here before and it would still be here after that game's lifetime ran out.
DBD was an indie game and a relative unknown before it released, and then on release it blew up vastly bigger than the people who enjoyed it and even bigger than the devs expected. Way bigger like, selling all the copies they expected to sell in the entire lifetime of the game in under a year, and continuing to grow for years and years beyond bigger. Dead by Daylight was kind of an underdog not gonna lie, and then here came F13 with all its backers and hype months before release that Dead By Daylight never had the benefit of. It was extremely satisfying to see DBD come out on top with it's unique art design, lore, characters, over a well known and reputable franchise that has had the benefit of decades to build up a solid fanbase and reputation. To see DBD outlast (pun? maybe..) F13 and all its pesky and annoying fanboys was nothing short of incredible.
However,
Even you can't deny that Jason is in fact a cultural icon and a widely known in many parts of the globe. Ignoring the rise and fall of "F13: The Game" this character himself has captivated the fears of audiences for literal decades right alongside the faces old and new we see in Dead By Daylight now: Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Ghostface and likely many more to come. Dead By Daylight is the amalgamation of all kinds of horror stories and a true revival of the slasher genre, it's basically the Super Smash Bros Ultimate of horror. It would be a huge disservice both to the game, and to the genre it hails from that it seeks to praise to not include what is basically a figurehead of horror. To willingly and knowingly pass up even the smallest chance, the slightest possibility to add what is basically a legend to the ranks of characters that populate the game.
And yeah, Trapper is great. I love that there's a significant chunk of the community that continues to voice the support of the devs to continue to come up with their own new, unique, and original stories. To see that the characters they've made that were inspired by the very licenses they have access to now, have gone above and beyond to stand on their two legs is crazy. But that's just it, they do stand on their own two legs no longer is it "Trapper was meant to fill the role of Jason because we would never even dare to dream of securing that character" it's "Trapper is the face of Dead By Daylight, a popular and successful 4 v 1 asymmetrical horror multiplayer game". Trapper is his own character, with his own unique backstory and lore, he is not Jason. It's important to remember your origins and where you came from and yeah, it's no secret Trapper was inspired by the character. But with the success of Dead By Daylight he has stepped out of his predecessors shadow spawning all kinds of artwork, cosplay, and general love for the character. Hell, he even won the "Canadian Video Game Award for 'Best New Character' - 2016" I don't honestly know how significant that is in the circles of the industry especially since I don't live in Canada but hey, it was big for the dev team especially at the time.
Trapper isn't Jason nor does he only "fit the role of Jason" he has gone beyond that. He serves a greater purpose and holds a greater significance to the game now. They both deserve to be in to be perfectly honest, and I think that's perfectly reasonable. Time and time again the devs have defied the naysayers of the community who at one point in time vehemently opposed Ghostface saying things like "he's just a normal human, what kind of power would he even have?" a sentiment that sounds very similar to the rhetoric you yourself seem to be so keen on (the idea that Jason can't have a unique power). Yet the devs themselves proved their creativity and their capability and here Ghostface is and not only that but he is a genuinely viable and strong killer to play. Might as well be a spit in the face of anyone who ever doubted the possibility of which there were several. Jason's history is long and spans several films more than Ghostface so it's not like there is no source material to work from there's plenty to think of.
Here's an idea that I don't think anyone on this thread has said yet:
Jason's power would have something to do with a thick fog (thicker and far more dense than what exists in the trial naturally). Something that spans a large area and surrounds him that making it difficult to see farther than a few meters when inside it (of course not for the killer). Survivors that are inside this fog suffer from blindness and become oblivious. And now clearly that's not a full power all by itself but there's obviously more room to do things with this ability to flesh it out. Maybe he throws it out to cover entire areas, maybe there's a second part to that power which he can activate to make it a global effect covering the entire map in this extremely thick fog, and during this time he can teleport. Since nobody can see anything he can teleport anywhere (as long as it's not right on top of a survivor).
The point is it's a power tailored to the character specifically that is indeed unique to the character, and that's just me some random wacko community member who's taken the time to literally type paragraphs of what may or may not be complete nonsense depending on what is released in chapter 16. But it does prove one thing: which is that it's possible. So quit with your own nonsense that's it's not because it clearly can be done.
At the end of the day, at least my own personal distaste for F13 and preference for DBD and its unique combination of original and licensed content was in no small part due to the silly and stupid rivalry between the communities of F13 and DBD. And to his credit Riley wasn't wrong that we can enjoy all these games because that's just what we should do as horror fans. So for me anyway, I'm taking off the crusader helmet because that battle is over and in a sense "we won" F13 the game is basically gone at this point. But there's no need to add insult to injury and refuse / bar access to fans who are looking for a similar and arguably better experience and want the same for a character that they care about so he can live on so to speak. Something that F13 the game could never offer them. So now I welcome F13 its "pesky annoying fanboys" to Dead By Daylight and Jason with open arms.
I have no idea why I wrote all this. Though at the same time I mean, it's not like I've got anything better to do given the circumstances..

Would You prefer jason or a original killer.

That Ability idea I like. Thank you.
I know Jason is an icon but I stood by that if we never got him ill always have trapper and mothers dwelling to act like a jason. And it works out well enough. But I doubt due to legal issues that dbd will ever see Jason before it dies.
Powercreep wise the game needs more original killers.

You could call it a banana and it won't matter. It is obviously a machete. You look up Cleavers and you will not find anything that looks like these weapons. You are trying to argue a losing point here. The guy uses a machete, end of story.

Both! That's the beauty of it! You have completely enjoyable original characters side by side with movie icons. Theres a new killer every 3 months. If i get Jason now, well i guess we get candyman next. If we get an original, then the speculation continues.
I await every chapter regardless of who the character is. I didn't like demogorgon, and at the same time i didn't like Oni.
I want Jason because i grew up with him. Him and Freddy are my 2 favorites. I have Freddy so only one left.
Your question would be more relevant should this be the last chapter. It's not.
