Can we expect cross-progression/purchase anytime soon

Just wondering if this will ever materialize as the devs have mentioned it several times and those new consoles are inching ever closer.

I've recently finally had that computer built that I envisioned having back when I orignally watched beta footage of this game but never had the time, money nor space for anything other than a cheap crappy PC.

I own the game on Steam and want to play but I''m unwilling to throw away the 3 years of progress and significant amount of purchases I've made on console for add-ons and cosmetics.

I'm wondering if one day I'll be able to shift over all my unlocks, cosmetics and DLC for the Steam version of the game from Xbox. Otherwise I'll just have to stay on Xbox permanently. Thanks in advance to any devs that answer.

    They don't have a definite answer right now so its the same as always, it is something they have looked into and would like to do at some point but it's not a guarantee it will ever happen.

    So if does come about they will announce it when and if it will be coming.

    Crossplay: maybe some time in the future, no one knows

    Crossprogress: probably never

    Hackers already managed to play on console lobbies with PC (bc there is no jailbreak to play online with consoles afaik and they used freddy on nintendo switch, which isnt even released there). So its def possible, especially with the dedicated servers. But they would have to implement a game internal friend system, bc you cant add console players to your steam list vice versa.

    For Crossprogress: dont think it will. Sony/MS/Nintendo take a good cut of all the sales (thats why everything is more expensive on their platforms) and if everyone could just buy their stuff via steam and use it on their console char, they would loose money. And you know how it is: who's always right? The money.
