The Pig's Name

Why do we call her, The Pig, when we know her real name is Amanda?

To people who don't watch the SAW movies i guess I can understand.

But is it because of the culure of this game that we just say "Oh yea, she The Pig"

Or is it just to respect the character itself as being an icon passed from Jigsaw's pupils who survive?
Amanda is the First Pighead and then Hoffman came along and 2 others i think, im a bit rusty on SAW.

So is it just because it's convenient or because The Pig is more of an icon for all Pigheads out there?

    Neither. Its because in DbD all killers are called "The x". Michael Myers is The Shape, Freddy is The Nightmare, Leatherface is The Cannibal, etc. Its like saying "They are not the same killers as they were, they are the Entity's toys now".

    That said, they do not dismiss the characters' name. They are mentioned in their add-ons and item quotes.

    It's a title, kind of like how Myers is called "the Shape."

    They are killers. Survivors don't know their personality. They are mysterious.

    Its their nicknames, their real names arent secret. Also Amanda makes for less puns than Pig.

    I initially called her Amanda, but most of my friends hadn't seen the first 2-3 SAW movies, and didn't know who that was. Plus, every time one of us gets a pallet stun, we say we "squeaked the Pig".
