Underrated Perks Pt. 6: I'm All Ears
I'm starting a series of discussion posts about perks that I think are underappreciated and players should try using more often. For all of these posts, feel free to give your thoughts on if you agree and why, or why you think the perk is meh.
You probably saw me tease this perk in my post about Surveillance, but anyway...
I'm All Ears is a very overlooked perk, but I can understand why. It's a perk that won't really win you games on its own. If you're a mediocre killer, this perk won't do much for you. But if you're a good killer and you have a good sense of how survivors behave, this perk's aura reading will be very useful to you. What this perk does is give you the information needed to optimally play around structures when a survivor vaults, allowing you to see them for 6 seconds. If you were already pretty good at mindgaming, this perk will allow you to reach ASCENDED mindgaming potential, and this is especially good on killers that need help landing that second hit, such as Legion and Plague. I don't even want to get into how good this perk is on Nurse, just...sweet Jesus!
When talking about Surveillance, I talked about how insidious the perk was, stating how survivors will basically never know you have the perk. This is far more true with I'm All Ears. If you run this perk, survivors will have no idea you have it. From their perspective, you're just a killer that's surprisingly good at mindgames for some reason.
One of the hardest counters to I'm All Ears is the perk Quick and Quiet, and while it does suck in that situation, not too many survivors will run Quick and Quiet except in builds revolving around it.
I'm All Ears. It's not an instant win button, but when you've got it equipped, it's big brain time.
What does everyone think?

I think it's a pretty solid perk, sometimes there's more than 1 survivor and someone else vaults first and gets the aura instead of the person I decided to chase.

I have had that happen to me before, and it's really annoying when it does happen. But it doesn't happen often enough to discourage me from using the perk.

It's okay.
The problem with I'm All Ears is that if the survivor is good they will be able to avoid you no matter which way you go around the window. It's great against survivors that vault a window and don't look behind them, or as a counter to Lithe/Q&Q that kinda stuff, but against good survivors they will vault the window and watch you to see what you do.
IMO it's best for Nurse since she can just cut the bull ######### and blink through the wall at you. Maybe also for GF or Pig since they can hide their red stain with stealth. But for normie killers like Billy and stuff I don't see it being all that useful.
