DC penalties

Just curious, I love the idea that prevents as much rage quitting with DC Penalties, but I think it’s becoming an issue for a lot of players who may not have the best WiFi and sometimes get disconnected.

My question is, if we now have the notification sounds for actual DC vs loss of connection, why do both get the penalties?

will we at some point have a separation so those players won’t get a penalty?

also this is not a personal issue I have but I see it happening to a lot of people I play with and it’s really pushing them away from wanting to play because they can help the connection loss.

just a curious question and something I think should be looked at if possible

The issue comes because there are people who either put their device into airplane mode, or disconnect their Ethernet cable and this would be seen as bad internet. This would bypass the reason of there being a penalty in the first place. Obviously not everyone is going to do this, but the devs have said before that they have no proper way to see what happened, so the penalty punishes all. Even with bad connection, as unfortunately as it is, you still ruin the match for the players you were with.

If people don't have the best wifi, they shouldn't play online video games. That's just a fact. Do you feel sorry for people whose PCs don't meet the other minimum requirements (because, yes, stable internet connection is a requirement just as much as GPU, CPU, and RAM) and think the game should be downgraded until their PCs can also play the game?
