I haven't used camaraderie enough to give my opinion, but you sound very convincing. I agree with you on vigil, it can help you and many others recover from status effects faster, and people hate it now because of the exhaustion nerf.

Lithe, I think it's the best and most useful exhaustion perk, and it happens to be the only one that I can use (aside from Balanced, but after the nerf it feels so clunky I hate it)

    Spine Chill (Lowkey OP)

Calm Spirit (Quite good actually, if it worked against the Plague, which I don't think it does, I think it'd be viable)

    Resilience (Lowkey OP)

And Botany knowledge, efficient healing, and makes SC viable when paired with it.

Oh, I forgot killer: Make your choice,

    Dying Light,

    Surge,

    Thanatophobia,

    Surveillance

    and I'm all ears.

Not a fan of resilience. Spine chill is like in my top 4 favourite survivor perks, it also helps a lot in a chase. Lithe is my favourite exhaustion perk because it helps in chases more then sprint burst.

Most of these were mentioned above, but great picks. Surge is very good for gen builds and makes for quite a strong build on pyramid head. Thanataphobia is something I find very underwhelming because it only works on like 2 killers.

I don't know why people are throwing up Spine Chill and Kindred as "underrated" as if anyone ever thought they were bad perks in the first place.

Sure, there's a difference between "The Meta" and what's flat-out good, but there's no denying everybody knew these perks were good a long time ago. I wouldn't call them underrated by any stretch both of these perks are literally the defining staples of my regular build as a solo survivor who regularly hangs out in red ranks (not that it matters what rank you are because rainbow ranks affect everyone) they are absolutely GOD tier perks for anybody trying to make it as a solo player.

You know what is an actual underrated perk? Hear this: Camaraderie.

Camaraderie is an amazing perk if you're a solo player who has little faith in his teammates, it has singlehandedly saved my life countless times just because I knew beforehand or had a hunch beforehand my teammates (Cosmetics = skill. Change my mind) wouldn't be great, they waste so much time crouching or walking around for no good reason, dull totem cleansing, opening chests, self-caring in a corner or even just doing a regular heal / group heal when the killer is running all manner of anti-heal perks like Thanataphobia, Sloppy butcher etc. Or even wasting time repairing a generator that isn't close to being finished instead of saving their teammate.

Just generally doing all this at the wrong time, making poor decisions (that can needlessly cost the game), and they waste so much time that by the time they start running toward you are fully aware they're going to try, but you know it's already too late.

Or just as well because it may or may not be more commonplace than teammates making bad decisions, it's an anti-camping tool. If the killer is camping you and your teammates are playing this game of cat and mouse, bait and switch trying to pull you off a hook, camaraderie gives them SO much extra time to work with. Camaraderie literally staves off DEATH

I mean think about it this way the only way you can die (without a mori) is by being sacrificed. Camaraderie delays that sacrifice time by an entire 30 whole seconds. When a generator takes only 80 seconds to fully repair that's huge. Even in SWF there's some coordination that can be made there with that extra time, so it's not like it's useless in SWF if you actually play around it and use that time to your advantage.

Works wonders on Hag and Oni (since ppl want to heal against Oni) when combined with Sloppy. It really puts the survivors in a difficult spot.

    Too true.

I have a build to punish campers: Kindred, Open Handed, and Camaraderie, but the others don't know I have Camaraderie and I get rescued sooner than I'd like because of Kindred. I want to milk as much time out of the hook as possible, not be unsafely unhooked in front of the camper 10-15 secs in.

    Kindred is a double-edged sword.

Camaraderie, being camped? well the killer is now guaranteed no more than a boring 2k.

Ohhh i like that idea, what do you typically run as your 4th perk on that? Exhaustion, iron will maybe?

  • ManyAchievables

    Distortion and Iron Maiden.

Distortion gives you so much information. Even if it doesn't activate once, you know that they aren't using BBQ, aren't using Nurse's Calling, aren't using IAE, etc.

They keep adding in locker-based perks and strategies (DS, Head On, Inner Strength, Red Herring), so Iron Maiden will humiliate these people who use these perks.

Run whichever perk you like. I use the build on Jane and have Boil Over as her 4th (for reasons I will not disclose on a public forum).

If your using OH you might as well use both kindred and bond. Not bad at all.

Tenacity as I said many times is one of the top 5 best survivor perks, so it is underrated. Saves me from being hooked so many times. Bond is also very very good if you are solo survivor..almost a must have.

Glad someone appreciates tenacity as it is great for the slugging meta with killers like nurse, billy, spirit and oni being slugging killers constantly being played at high ranks.

I use lithe because in my opinion it save good pallets for later like save shack pallet and move to another loop and also the gens will fly I personally love lithe and I'll never change my mind on it and for make you choice I normally use it on basement hag because I like to meme around on the game and to make a Cherry on top is of course salty survivors but still I love those perk and player's that like to have fun and not be a competitive player just play some meme build like basement hag, bubba and trapper

Object of Obsession. I feel ppl sleep on the new object because it's not as annoying as it used to be, but knowing that the killer can see you with a certain perk or add-on and you can see them is pretty nice. Sure if you're the obsession, object can backfire on you if you're one of the 2 survivors left alive, but overall having wallhacks on the killer for a short period of time is pretty nice

Small game doesn't work on traps anymore, it's totems only

When I play survivor I much prefer lithe to sprint burst. Means you can still run without being locked into your exhaustion perk until you need to be. Of course nobody runs any exhaustion other than dead hard

I'd say Whispers... It does let you know if there are Survivors within your TR (But the down sides are that it works with Survivors on hook and Multiple floors

Unrelenting... With 360'ing becoming a thing

SH: Gift of Pain... It's effect is after a heal (which survivors will do) and slows down Gens for that Survivor

    Agree with Kindred...

I run Stakeout, Leader, Kindred, and BT (I know "meta" right)

Oppression... let's you regress up to 4 Gens

Surveillance... give you Information on regressing Gens

For killer, I'd have to say Franklin's. People like to say just take <X> perk for <Y> situation, but like, Franklins just turns the whole problem off.

For survivor I'd have to say Calm Spirit. It's actually kind of nice to not have to worry about setting off crows, or screaming. It doesn't solve they can see outlines and stuff, but it at least stops telling them which direction to look.

Kindred. I play solo queue a lot and having or not having this perk can be the difference between escaping or getting absolutely annihilated by the killer. It saves so much time because teammates can (in theory) continue doing gens if they see someone else going for the unhook. Plus, it gives you invaluable information about the killer (whether they're camping, or which direction they're leaving the hook area from).

I know people universally agree this is a strong perk, but I don't see it run all too often (hence why I include it in all my solo queue builds as everyone benefits from it. It's one of those perks that benefit the team as a whole, rather than one survivor.

Also: Hope. I kinda see this perk as a simpler Adrenaline. While you don't get the health state and sprint burst, it can come in really useful in the end game (particularly if you're against an end game build killer), plus, it's not an exhaustion perk like Adrenaline so can be used alongside perks like DH, Lithe etc without the worry of there being a conflict between two exhaustion perks.

Distortion, it has to be my absolutely favorite SWF perk, the amount of info it gives is stupid.

It has a huge downside tho, which is it's charges. I'd give up the aura hiding for like 1 more charge. The info it gives is priceless.

    Also Huntress Lullaby.

Survivors ignore it, cuz it's not a dangerous perk, why cleanse it, since it doesn't have any impact, right? Except when you get a killer who knows how to pressure gens, the stress makes it really shine.

If there are deaf people playing this game, I have nothing but mad respect for them, Huntress Lullaby makes me completely useless xD

Mfw I realised this is a 2 year old thread.

    Bout underrated perks...

A lot of people listed theirs, so I'll just list my build and why I use the perk.

Detective's hunch - gives you an info on where gens, chest and totems are. Sure, you might not remember where all the totems where, but still a bit better than small game if you are paying attention. And the gen part helps in rpd and such.

Empathy - let's you know where people are much often than Bond and if they are being looped or not. If not you can go for a heal and work on a gen together after. Sometimes gonna run it with autodidact for that sweet sweet rng.

Botany Knowladge - idk how much time it saves on healing, but sure comes in clutch often. And it turns the yellow medkit into a double heal instead of 1 and a half. Which is pretty nice.

Lithe - need I say more ? Especially good with Dance with me.
