What does "fully deplete" 3 keys mean?

There's still one challenge (from Tome 1 I believe) that I haven't done yet, and it requires you to fully deplete 3 keys. What does it mean? Use it to open the hatch or deplete the key's meter through aura reading? If so, what add-ons or key should I use to do it? I know it's an old challenge but I mostly play killer and the last guy I asked couldn't comprehend my relatively simple question. Let's see if anyone else can.

    Use it completely, I think using keys to open hatch do count, if not, use any key for aura reading

    Use the broken key for this, literally the only thing its good for. Then it doesnt matter what add in as long as it comes with a meter like aura reading
