Need help as killer + matchmaking
I have been playing this game for a bit under a year on ps4, mostly as survivor managing to get rank 1 recently and getting matched with other red rank killers and the occasional purple which I'm happy about but recently I've been trying to learn killer at rank 11-12 and always seem to get matched with red rank teams but when I play survivor I'll never face green rank killers?
I love this game and am trying to learn killer now since I want to experience both sides but I'm having alot of trouble against some red rank teams even using perks like bbq ruin corrupt and nurses.
Sooo does anyone have any advice in regards to improving at playing as killer?

I'm on the PS4 as well and I've experienced much of the same things you have. I'm a rank 7 survivor, but more often than not I usually get matched against a double-digit killer. But as a double-digit killer myself, I'm constantly being matched against single ranks, or worse, red rank swf. I don't get it. As many have attested too, the matchmaking in this game is seriously messed up, so hopefully the new system they have in place will fix something.
I would say try not to let it get to you and just stick it out, but I'm at a point to where it's happening so frequently to me that I can't be bothered to play killer much anymore. At the very least hop back in when the new MMR is up and running. Hopefully within a few months time things will be a lot better.

Firstly, don't worry, matchmaking is hopefully beign changed soon so you'll be faced with equal players again mate.
Secondly, pick one killer and main them. Learn them inside and out, it's much better than trying to learn everyone at once. Once you've done that you can learn another, but for the start focus on being the best you can be as only one guy.
Watch content creators who play killer (Otzdava is a great example) and get a feel for the basic gist (tips all M1 killers should know).

As others have stated, match making is being fixed, for now dont worry about the W, just practice landing hits against jukes and learning to play the tiles. A big thing is practicing learning to hide your red stain. Youll mess up but so what, like i said doesnt matter if you 4k rn.

I so follow content creators and sometimes watch streams but yeah it seems the matchmaking issue is known about and should be fixed soon so I'm not worried about that too much, I do play a few killers so I'll try stick to 1 and get better 😁
I have no idea how the mechanics of the red stain work exactly but I'll figure it out 😋

Basically the red stain is always in front of you, so once you understand the pathing survivors take you can walk backwards around corners so survivors dont see the light till youve already come around. Takes a bit of practice for sure.

Does the red stain go though walls? When you turn backwards does it matter if the killers stain hits the wall or is it better to try spin backwards without the stain touching the wall

It shouldn't but can still do, and even if it doesn't go through the wall it can wrap around the edge of the wall to still show where they are. The best mindgames don't just hide the stain, but completely bamboozle the survivor into running the other direction. It's always a good idea to hide your stain though, regardless. It's why high wall loops vs Ghostface can be so dangerous
