BLM Charity organizations to donate to.
I made a poorly thought idea that we could have a cosmetic charity case to get a good help to the community, I realize now that it's of good heart but politics and right now, none of us need that and that'll cause issues, I have some links below.

I think putting politics into the game is a reallllllly bad idea.
Donating to good causes is well...good though. I think you have to keep games as games and not something portraying political messages which stem off into all sorts of arguments and division.

Many, many games have political messages in them, even if you think they don't.
That said, it would be better to make a statement as a company and donate directly/match employee donations rather than through offering a cosmetic item. There's paperwork involved in establishing a clear line between the purchase of the cosmetic and the money going to the charity stated. Often a charity has to check who is advertising for them and how it will reflect upon them, the cosmetic has to be designed... it takes time to set up such a thing.
And given Dead by Daylight is a game focused on hunting and killing people / being hunted and trying to escape, it's probably not the best place to insert such statements.

I think the OP's heart is completely in the right place. And if they did something that generated proceeds for a charity that would be great. But until you pointed out the obvious I had not thought about the message being sent that if you give surviviors BLM t-shirts or something then hunt and kill them, it is definitely the wrong way to go. So you are right an in-game cosmetic would be in poor taste.

It’s a nice idea and any donations are welcome but as I’ve said before. Any kind of political cosmetic wouldn’t work for the game because some of the toxic or childish who play will target people wearing a certain cosmetic. Many people want pride charms but it can’t happen because certain people will only go after ones with those charms.

I think it's a good idea. If some people start targeting others for these cosmetics, they can be banned for griefing/harassment, which I'm guessing will remove a lot of the toxicity as well.

Everything is political. This is a fact of life.
Hell, people on these forums rampantly treat killers and survivors as though they are political parties in terms of the mean-spirited us-vs-them mentality.
OP's idea is a nice and kind sentiment, but in my heart of hearts, I know this thread is just gonna turn into a powder keg. I bet it probably already has, in the time I took to scan the thread and type this response. (EDIT: I am pleasantly surprised. I hope I don't jinx it.)

I don't see what's political about saying black people's lives matter just the same as white people's lives. The fact that some people try to make basic human decency political doesn't mean it is.

It's political in the sense that it is taking a stance on a human issue that others will disagree with.
It's also basic human decency, and shouldn't be remotely controversial to anyone with a shred of empathy in their heart.

Fair enough.

This.
Although if a cosmetic set was released and all proceeds went to the medical staff who have worked in this pandemic, I would be all for that.

I miss when video games were something I could go to so I can escape reality. There's no room for an apolitical stance in anything I enjoy anymore.
