Cleansing vs. Plague

So how does everyone handle this?

I had always heard people say not to cleanse - or to rarely cleanse - and yet when I actually play Plague, I find that I'm extremely happy to see people just running around glowing green, coughing, vomiting, and broken.

(And don't even get me started on Incense!)

In fact, I'm almost disappointed when people cleanse often, because I feel obligated to head to a fountain and "upgrade" but I lose all my beautiful green slime and broken, coughing survivors. In exchange I get a ranged attack that's useful, but I never feel all that excited about it.

Could just be that I'm not as good at utilizing the upgraded ranged attack as I am at just M1'ing a broken survivor once, but what are people's thoughts on this?

I never cleanse, I hate when teammates do, then I try to overload the fountains and force her power out, then hopefully they'll take a hint.

    They don't.

But as Plauge, I don't play her, but I'd definitely want the Corrupt Purge often. That mode makes her a Huntress that is 110% MS when charging her hatchets which sprays around the area, essentially being unavoidable if you're good with it. Maybe it's just your playstyle though.

Personally, if I am playing Solo, I will cleanse. Just to save my own skin.

Something that I noticed most Plagues I've played against do however is that they tend to puke on Survivors despite already being broken, so maybe not cleansing is the way to go. Since most people who play her don't actually know how to play her.

The problem why people hate cleansing is because everyoine considers himself a god looper and hates immersive playstyle. It would be fairly easy to counter her power, same like against Oni: just hide.

People complain about NOED but grant unlimited exposed with massive sound notifications is fine? Yeah, sure.

It is funny as heck, seeing a plague try to puke on someone with No mither.

It was nice, when they gave her a free fountain a few months back. The meta shifted, suddenly cleansing was in the table, everything was coming up Adiris. Then everyone realised that, as with corrupt intervention, they can just wait it out. And now she's back almost to square 1, because everyone just rushes gens and doesn't cleanse and most of the time your fountain isn't in a good spot because RNG is a thing, so you cannot catch anyone by surprise if you try to use it because when you do they get warned and go into ultra stealth mode.

So now the meta is, once again, to not cleanse and force her to play M1 killer against teams that glue themselves to generators and play safe. Yay. Fun times to be a plague main. At least there's still some secret ways to force them out of their holes and into a chase. Sometimes.

Plague is gross. Can't stand playing against her personally. As far as cleansing goes, you need to use your brains about it. Don't cleanse the moment you get infected. Wait until you're broken, or nearly broken. Cleansing against her is fine. But it needs to be done strategically.

If i have to cleanse, I try do it in an area where the gens are already done so she has to choose between patrolling gens or getting her Power.

But what I noticed is, most people cleanse on death hook or during endgame.

Did this a while ago... should still be relevant.

Most would go to 2nd or 4th options

Usually you should try not too unless you really need too. Use your best judgement of the situation whether you NEED to heal, or can do so safely at a fountain out of the killers path, away from doors, gens or in a deadzone.

I heard someone say that you send always cleanse for some reason. Something about the fountains? Anyone know?

Also, how long does the red power last on her?

Only cleanse when the gens around the fountain are complete.
