Humorous Strategics

I love how killers are complaining about people using sprint burst or pallet looping but when it comes to face or proximity camping they say it’s just strategy. Like oh gee I didn’t know dead hard was so scary and unfair but three minutes later they get a 4 meter lunge at a survivor and they say it’s balanced. I know 4 survivors working together is op sometimes, but that doesn’t mean you should start face camping because you’re mad the Dwight used decisive. Just saying face camping and proxy camping should be fixed haha.

It's already fixed by just winning the game if they do it?

I've never seen anyone complain about Spront Burst, a looping is a tactic, as is tunneling and camping.

If the killer is facecamping, and gens take 80 seconds to do, that means everyone else doing a separate gen at the same time lets 3 gens Pop, and then if they all get on a fourth one they can almost finish that one by the time the facecamped person dies. No survivor group of 3 should be capable of failing at that point. Does it suck for the person being facecamped? Yeah, but it punishes the behavior.

if I get facecamped (rare) I will struggle as hard as I can if people are doing gens. If everyone is crouching around different trees ten meters from me gawking at the hook, despite the fact I always run Kindred...then I’m gonna suicide since they don’t care about winning anyway, just the 1000 unhook points they’d get from an unsafe save.

They recently re-addressed camping in the most recent Q&A and / or 4th anniversary I can't remember which (probably the Q&A) where they basically said they're never going to make Camping a bannable offense or completely stop / put an end to camping. It's a strategy that they want players to have the choice of using, although they made sure to state that it is a very poor strategy since you can be very easily gen rushed because you aren't applying pressure on any generators while camping.

What they did say is they would continue to introduce new changes and content that disincentivizes camping, since it does take away from the fun of almost everyone in the match, the killer isn't doing anything, the guy on the hook isn't doing anything, the other survivors are probably just doing generators, etc. They're never going to introduce new content and changes with the express purpose or intention of promoting camping and if anything will do the opposite, make changes that make the strategy less viable, rewarding, and harder to pull off.

But they're never going to outright say to players "you can't do this" they're going to just let the often negative consequences (getting less kills, bloodpoints, etc.) speak for themselves.

If they made survivors less safe so they were less willing to attempt an unhook with the killer standing there it'd probably go a long way. The main reason killers camp is because it's mostly frustrating and counterproductive to chase for any significant period of time (of course, when they do, now it's "tunneling"). Survivors have so many ways to avoid getting downed so chases often end up annoying more than anything else - and because they have all those tools the killer knows that they're liable to try to unhook a dude even if they're standing right there, so why bother with the extra effort.

The disincentive to camping is to make chasing more fun and more worth it for the killer.
