Is there an option to help people with colorblindness?

Hey everyone, my boyfriend just started playing Dead by Daylight today. He really likes it so far and has really been drawn to killer. He's had quite a few 4ks as Michael but I'm afraid it's just due to high ranking survivors. Because of his colorblindness, he can't see scratch marks at all. I can already tell this will turn ugly as he starts to rank down. Is there some kind of settings in the options menus for people with this disability? Thanks in advance.

sadly I dont believe there is currently a way to to change color setting to help people with color blindness but luckily this game doesnt require color identification to be able to have fun :)

Unfortunately not. It sure is frustrating being colourblind whilst playing this game. Totems, traps, scratch marks and even gens are difficult to see. Hopefully your boyfriend will stick with it. He will find his own way of tracking 😃

I don't have a realistic solution, but if you are on PC and running I think an Nvidia card they have a Colorblind mode. You maybe able to try that.

Nvidia Freestyle has a ColourBlind mode I believe which can help - it is supported by Dead By Daylight.

Another programme is Reshade, this is whitelisted by the EAC - again I think this also has filters which can be used to help with colour blindness.

Nvidia freestyle isnt supported anymore, you would have to reroll to a very old driver

@ProfoundEnding I cannot vouch for how helpful my advice will be but I have some suggestions. My primary suggestion is to have him try playing Wraith. The Wraith is a great killer for those with sight issues for a number of reasons.

His first strength is his cloak. While he is cloaked he moves quicker than other killers so you can search faster. Additionally, while cloaked bloodstains are much brighter making them easier to spot. Then there are his perks. The Wraith's three perks:

All of these perks make tracking much easier which should help your boyfriend with the colorblindness track the survivors with less difficulty. Also, if he plans on playing as Michael Myers more than other killers then I recommend he acquire "Monitor and Abuse" (https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Monitor_&_Abuse) relatively quickly as it is arguably the best perk non-Myer's perk you can get. I cannot guarantee my methods will work, but it's the best I have.

I feel like the main problem with colorblind mode is that it would end up being better even for normal players - right now red auras/marks kind of blend with the brown-ish/gray-ish environment making them a tad harder to see. Giving colorblind mode would result in removing that blending/increasing contrast and everyone would end up using this mode.

I apologize, I should've stated that we play on console. Which obviously wouldn't work in regards to any programs PC has to offer.
