PyramidHead is broken
There is no way to know which skill he will use. The two skills are the same. This is not mindgame, this is simply looping in luck, or guessing. There is no way to counter this, except that it is too fast and still crosses the wall with an absurd ranged.
But what makes it more broken is the fact that you don't know which skill he will use and the cooldown of this is minimal. You can spam a thousand times

What? He's D tier at best. He's basically Trapper without any traps 95% of the time since his trail is so easy to avoid and his ranged attack is garbage

Look behind you in a chase.

The cooldown is literally longer than Legion's Frenzy stun, which is longer than a pallet stun, so you're objectively wrong there.
His ranged attack is honestly the easiest thing to avoid. The only time it'll hit you is if he guesses that you're gonna vault or pull down a pallet.

None of what you said is actually the problem with PH. The range is fine. It's surprisingly short. The cooldown is fine. PH using his power and missing buys you so much time to get away. If you're in a position where you're letting him spam his power at you, you're playing badly against him. The timing is slow to the point where most of the time you can still Dodge it.
The only problem with PH is that a good PH will know how to get into a position where either you'll either get hit by their power or m1'd. Then again other than that I don't think PH is much of a threat.

His ranged is ridiculously easy to dodge, my God.
Just look behind you, it's such a slow startup as well, you can dodge it.

Survivors are broken. There's no way to know if they will all have decisive strike. You have to guess. This is not a mind game.
See? I used your argument against you. Get FLARNDIPPED, BUD

His trails are not easy to avoid #########? 😂 you say that until he places trails around the tile you’re looping him at. And NO, I’m not throwing on urban evasion. I swear everyone says it’s easy to avoid when it’s really not.

He's not an easy killer to loop. Posters in the thread are misinterpreting you for talking about only the ranged attack, but I get what you mean is the 50/50. Either he shoots, or cancels and M1's. Either way, usually that only works when you're already fairly close enough to them to get an M1, all it does is gives you a small time save. Not a big problem in my eyes. Works for Demo too. This is really a killer you need to stealth, because a skilled PH will not let you escape a chase/can end it pretty quick with the right skill or wrong misplay from survivors.

"Pyramid head has no counterplay, it's a 50/50"
Spirit : "let me introduce myself"

i agree in the right hands hes impossible to dodge.

PH's trails are really easy to avoid, as his ranged attack.

Keep making threads like this. I'm sure the devs will give him a cd eventually -.-

Every time PH uses ranged attack there's a cooldown. The only way anyone would not know that is if they haven't ever played him.
On top of that cooldown, PH needs to have enough charge to be able to use it.
You can also tell weather PH is primed for ranged attack or not by checking to see if his knife is in the ground or not.

I think PH is broken too.
On every loop his knife is in the ground so the survivor can’t do a lot: drop the pallet he uses his range attack, you don’t drop he will m1 you, same on windows... and so his trail is everywhere on this loop you can only avoid it by leaving but if he don’t used his range attack you can’t make distance.
The overkill is a strategically use of his cages: first hook a tornamented survivor or hook him and make sure the survivor can’t avoid trail (e.g. trails upstairs of the basement), proxycamp, down the survivor again and send him to a cage. Go again for the survivor and mini-mori him... this killer forces tunneling in a horrible way.
And on top he can choose to make a lot of survivor perks useless and please don’t tell me killerperks too, because he can choose when he want use cages so he still can run bbq, pop, myc... The killer know about his abilities and select the perks for his playstyle, while survivors select their perksettings and don’t know which killer they will face.
Pyramidhead is just broken and his mechanics are unhealthy for the game!

Literally the only thing broken about PH is when his trails are gone from the map yet still somehow torment a survivor. Which is honestly the best we'll get as every aspect of this game has something broken about it.

yeah nerf him again

Thinking he's D tier is just laughable and out of all killers, you compare him to trapper?
If anything he's Demogorgon that can go through obstacles. His ranged attack isn't garbage if you know how to use it appropriately, aka when survivors are stuck in animation.

I'm currently maining him to P3-max him and I can tell some survivors know exactly how to counter him. I little advice can be to drop pallets a bit earlier than usual, without giving him time to prepare his ranged attack. This often makes the killer try anyway and miss, which buys you a lot of time.

Pyramid Head requires pinpoint accuracy, perfect movement predictions, two hits (no instadown) and even then his ranged attack can easily be dodged by most players which is why many Pyramid Heads only use the ranged attack to deny windows and pallets. On top of that Pyramid Head can no longer effectively tunnel cages.
He is an alright killer (not overly strong but not weak neither) that can do well in the 1 v 1 aspect but due to the non existent mobility he still struggles against people that split up and do gens quickly.
He is FAR from broken.

Pyramid head is fine where he's at. We go through this every time a new killer is released.
Learn to play against him. See what works and what doesn't work. Can't expect all killers to be looped the same way.
1 -
Here's how you counter him:
Hold w.
Trust me. It works.
1 -
Try this trick survivors use all the time against M1 killers but its somehow eldritch knowledge against Pyramid Head:
At a loop see him line up an M2 if you get close to a pallet. Pretend you're not gonna commit to the pallet drop and watch him ######### let go of M2 cuz he needs the speed to catch up to you. Turn back and smack him in the face with the pallet. He will not be able to react if you do it quick enough.
Aside from that, just do what all the other people in this thread have said regarding playing against him. You just need to watch your distance from him, know what he is likely to do, and last by not least, like most other killers, hold W and make distance.

He runs at 110 with his sword in the ground, he'll still catch you and doesn't actually need to take it out during the chase unless its a god loop.

Depends on your distance to the killer and the pallet, which is something you always need to pay attention to with PH. It works on some instances, obviously not all the time. If you're a certain distance from PH he needs to let go of his M2 to catch up, cuz remember he slowed down to like 90% for 1 second as he was plonking his sword. Again it requires you to pay attention to what he is doing, how close he is, and how close the pallet is.
Refer to all the other tips people have given in this thread for different ways in which you can deal with him depending on the situation.

Sounds good if the game is bug free but remember there are issues with the hitbox and the hit validation is done on the client side of the killer (which is atrocious should be a validation from both sides), the killer is most likely hit you so you throw the pallet at him.

If you fake not committing to the pallet drop you can make him think you are gonna keep running, and you make the play quick enough he won't time to react even if he commits to his Punishment of the Damned, and if he doesn't he won't have the time to get his M1 out. When you fake your M2, if you put the sword on the ground you actually can't M1 for like half a second after letting go of M2.
It's not the easiest play to pull off. There are easier things you can do against him. What Im trying to say is this is another play that can work in a specific scenario like what people have suggested in this thread can also be used in their specific situations.
What makes PH strong is the fact he doesn't have one thing that works against him 100% of the time consistently like he's some sort of NPC. You need to pay attention to the details of your situation and make hard to pull off plays accordingly.

Legion's Frenzy stun is 4 seconds.
Pyramid Head's Punishment Of The Damned cooldown is 2.75 seconds
