It's hard to think people like the game with how many people i see complaining about little things and the treatment i receive in post-game chat a lot of the time.

No one actually likes dbd, we just play it.

Welcome to the games and the forum!
There are days when I really really don't like the game, but so far I think I still have more good experiences than bad ones. Never will you play a game created by a more active and simultaneously negligent developer.

2 years here :^)
Love the music, theme, new content etc
But with every new patch, new bugs come and ruin the experience

I really like this game it is alot of fun , but i agree some people can be hectic about it

Yea it's like meth. I don't love it I just can't stop playing. Although I do have to admit, Pyramid Head is the most fun I've had in aaaages.

Been here coming up 3 years now, still love this game. Bought every dlc (except bubba because for some reason I got him with cells lol), too many cosmetics, and absolutely plan to spend more.
Welcome to dbd - enjoy your stay.
And join me in worshiping David King :p

Hey! Welcome to DbD!

I personally enjoy this game because I legitimately enjoy playing it, but the answer you will get from most people is that they don't really enjoy this game and only play it because they are basically addicts that have spent too much money to let go.
3 -
wow lol dont really make sense to play a game you dont enjoy? and i enjoy it as well

You see, the people behind this game are not the best at managing bugs, and they are very, very slow at implementing balance changes. Most of the time its about having patience with them.
2 -
That is true 💯 this game does have alot of bugs and matchmaking is horrible lol , so yes i understand completely

Oh, also, a great part of the community sucks ass, get ready to get a lot of hate mail from pricks that cant take a loss

I'm glad you're loving the community to far; please do your best to retain this love for as long as possible :)
People are pretty awful here but there are quite a few positives too.

First, like, 100 hours it's absolutely amazing in every aspect. After that, dunno, it's like you already see all the flaws, but the game still sticks with you and you just play it. One hundred hours after the other. I started playing myself at the beginning of 2020 and already have 700+ hours in-game lol

Hey, you will like it even when you are losing. You will find a motivation to keep playing and trying to be better:)

I enjoy people on the forums more then the people in game.We are like a widespread family on the forums with our ups and downs.

Glad to be here! I understand completely, sometimes players frustrate me in the game lol

I feel right now it would be a waste cause there are quite a few more things they can explore in this game i think.
For a game that's let's be honest pretty repetitive they do a good job at keeping it fresh

Started playing about a month ago and love the game. Didn't have the easiest time to learn playing killer but stuck through it and I've been enjoying the game so much recently. Slowly have been expanding my killer pool from just playing Billy, even though I still play him most of the time. Nurse has been a headache but slowly getting there with her as well without flannel addon.

In my 4 years of playing DBD I too used to complain about things I didn't understand when I was new. Now that I have played for so long I began to understand both sides. Still though I enjoy this game because it is fun to try to outsmart your opponents. It can be frustrating sure on either side. I think if you just play to have fun no matter the outcome you really get enjoyment from playing.

It's a hate love relationship. And I think many just have hope thaz the potential of DbD gets used. The concept of dbd is great, the execution isn't.

This is so accurate. I wish i could go back to when i first started playing

Thank you for this!

Saw the title, thought you were playing Dead By Daylight 2. Also, i only play this game because i love hate it, i know, it is strange

I'm newer myself! Started playing back in Feb. Welcome to the community. Personally I love the game. If I have any real quarrels, it's just the long grind. 400 hours and I still have a lot of killers to level, lol. In a way though it does keep one interested. You have continuous mini goals you can set for yourself. Each time I hit 40 with anyone, I've had to sit back and figure out who I'd like to level next for what skills, and what skills I already have unlocked that would sync well.
Hope you have fun and stick around.

@Meg_Survivor the game is such fun in the beginning but the longer you play and the buggier the patches get the more you become jaded. I truly hope they bring back real events like Summer BBQ, Hallowed Blight, and Howling grounds and you get to experience them. The lobby's are decorated as well as in game. Special items can be earned. Also They have done winter events with mystery boxes in the blood webs giving presents along with in game Christmas lights on hooks, lockers and trash cans. It makes the game feel different and not the same no matter what season you are playing.

Our relationship with the game:
"I absolutely despise you, but I cannot leave you."

Have been playing for about a month. Aesthetically it's great. And I do have fun playing, it's just that the game has some very simple design flaws that, if they were addressed, would make the experience so much better that I know I'm not playing what the game could be and likely never will. So ultimately it's kind of a weird sort of happy disappointment. It's fun, but could be so much more fun.

I've been playing since 2018 and I'm still enjoying it.
Yes, there are bugs. There are mechanics that ppl don't agree on. There are playstyles that are frowned upon and so on and so on. At the end of the day, dbd is my main multiplayer game and I don't see that changing.... unless the world really ends this Sunday ☠☠☠

I felt this way about CSGO for a long time.

I still enjoy it a lot! Then again, what keeps me invested especially was the discovery of a DBD randomizer app for perks, characters, offerings and add-ons, so am trying out all sorts of combinations and playstyles.
It only gets marred by a minority of players, but that's just because I don't understand the appeal of being a moron, rather than taking actions personally.
But it's mostly enjoyable to me.

It's two years on, this game has stole my sole, my money and me! lol! through the thick, the thin, the likes, the downvotes I am still here :)

I've uninstalled three times in the last month. I'm still playing it now.
