Why torment yourself?
I can't help but notice a majority of players complain about a certain mechanic or perk or whatever-has-you-bothered. [Second-chance perk] is broken! Plz remove! Or [Killer] is overpowered! Plz Nerf. I have a genuine question for people who bother to play something they know for a fact they'll be abused in some fashion or another, given the toxicity. What's your motivation to consistently torment yourself? And what is it exactly would have to be removed, nerfed, or buffed for you to have fun? Don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying "Quit the game then. You won't be missed." I will indeed miss you if I've enjoyed a chase with you on either role. I just want to see from your perspectives.

Because I see some Kool-aid on the floor and when I walk over to get some I accidentally touch some barbed wire instead.

Well, it's not exactly like we expect to load into every match and go against the same thing. I can't stand the chainsaw killers, but I go into matches knowing that they're two in twenty, and one of them is considered a laughing stock, so the odds of getting them are relatively low. Same with keys and flashlights. I think that flash-lighting at a pallet is something of a Richard relocation, especially since I don't show any signs of toxicity, but they're pretty rare.
I also don't demand nerfs like half the forum posters. If anything I just subtly imply it.
Best analogy I can give to your question is within Yahtzee Croshaw's reviews of Dark Souls over on Zero Punctuation. Something about banging your head against a brick wall.

That is a quick way to paint fading bricks,

As someone playing Pyramid Head almost non-stop since package release I was legit prepared to give a sincere breakdown of how it's a distraction technique they use to draw him away from objectives or to save teammates... I dunno what to say now.

I've noticed that a lot of times, it's usually when a new killer or perk arrives on the scene, and many don't understand how to counter it and just ry 'OP, must nerf!'. There are way too many players who just don't take the time to learn and adapt. The first day of the PTB with PH had survivors screaming for PH to be nerfed since he can mini-mori, and avoid DS completely. Then there are others such as GF who, I will admit, was slightly broken since his snap out was kind of broken, but players screamed he must be nerfed because he can easily down someone. I've been guilty of it myself, thinking that a killer or survivor perk is OP because I didn't take the time to learn or adapt. But I suppose these days, too many players just don't want to take the time to learn new mechanics. They prefer to latch to whats familiar, and when that is shattered, they're left defenseless and have to figure out how to work around it. That's just my take on it all.

I thought this was about PH lol a lot of people do just run through it
I think the devs have created a culture of toxicity especially on the survivor side, "entitlement" is a word used a lot. And on the killer side i noticed people who really complain are newer. Maybe because they have the unrealistic expectation that something like DS could be nerfed, or maybe They're just getting into higher ranks and going against SWF for the first time and realizing they aren't the role in power lol.
Maybe it's the illusion that this game is competitive when it's really not. Survivor communication is obviously a huge, really game breaking tool. Getting moried feels like you're being cheated out of a match, getting face camped feels like you're getting cheated out of a match, keys feel like you're getting cheated out of a match, and particularly on the survivor side there's a lot of OP perks that everyone runs. I don't even have to name them because im sure we both run them in most games lol. Rather than perks i think its just killers on the killer side, yeah you can play clown or legion or you could pick a good killer and drastically improve your odds of winning. As a survivor if you think Legion is how strong a killer should be then you feel cheated by PH or Billy or spirit

Yeah odd title considering who just released. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. When something big changes then I lose some marbles. Like Ruin Nerf or Sensitivity buff. I take 3-4 month breaks and complain personally to friends about how they f-cked up DbD AGAIN!
