The Problem With Pyramid Head
As someone who has hundreds of hours playing both killer and survivor almost equally, I'd have to say Pyramid Head is an overall decently balanced killer and I don't see any big issues with his powers (although his mori is a bit lame).
However, the cages are a whole other story. And my issue is this: why do the cages count towards hook sacrifice progression but they don't activate hook related perks for survivors? If the cage is going to be counted as a hook, it should affect the killer and survivors equally, shouldn't it?
As it is right now, being caged, being uncaged, or freeing someone from a cage doesn't activate any of the hook related survivor perks which are:
borrowed time, we'll make it, deliverance, kindred, off the record, breakdown, camaraderie, second wind, babysitter, and some aspects of slippery meat.
Plus the act of not needing to pick survivors up but still being able to "hook" them renders perks like flip-flop, breakout, and decisive strike along with flashlights and firecrackers useless. (However I think this would be totally fine if the cages didn't count as actual hooks).
The way I see it, this problem could be easily balanced by doing one of two things. The first option I see is that if the devs want to continue allowing the cage to act like a hook in favor of the killer, then it should activate hook related perks for survivors. The other option is having the cage not count as a hook. In this situation, it would just waste a little bit of time, render a survivor momentarily useless, and could potentially kill them if they aren't saved by their teammates.
What do you guys think? Are the cages fine as they are? Or do you agree that they seem a bit unbalanced?
