I was at level 50 but now...

Hi everyone!! qq - I was at level 50 and had lots of fun things but i at the bloodmap i hit the center button and i was restarted to level one and lost all of my perks. ive since built back up to level 5, but all i received was a free bloody top? is this normal? sucks i lost everything else.

second q- what are the best perks to use? i love the cat and im not sure what it is, but when a generator is finished the killer turns pink for me for a few seconds. i welcome everyones thoughts!

    thats just the prestige function once you hit lv 50 you can restart from 1 and you get bloody items. You can go to prestige 3.

    Hey, you seem definitely new so welcome to Dead by Daylight!

    To answer your first question, this is called the prestiging system. Every time you hit level 50, you can either continue buying things from the bloodweb with your bloodpoints which you earn in games, or you can prestige up to the next level. Prestiging also comes with losing everything and gaining a bloody part of your survivor's/killer's outfit in return, the good thing about prestiging is you get to unlock more rare, very rare items, item add-ons and perks. Once you reach prestige 3, you'll have unlocked the whole bloody outfit for that survivor/killer.

    To answer your second question, that perk with the cat logo is called 'Spine Chill'. Spine Chill is very good for beginner players like yourself. When the logo turns pink like you said, that means the killer is looking directly at you and is heading towards your way, which gives you a signal to hide and try and stealth out the killer so he/she doesn't find you.

    The cat is Spine Chill. It's a very useful perk. Not only does it light up when the killer is looking your way, but you also do things faster while it's active. This also includes vaulting a window, which is important because the only other perk that speeds that up is Resilience. If you use Spine Chill and Resilience together you can avoid a lot of hits at windows.

    The perk that makes the killer turn pink is called Dark Sense. It's a decent perk, but it's not that great since it can only activate 5 times at most.

    Another perk I'd recommend is Kindred. This will show you where all survivors are when someone is hooked, and the killer is also shown if they're too close to the hook. When you get hooked, the perk does the same thing but for all the other survivors.

    There is a big warning window that opens when you click that prestige button explaining what what it is and what will happen. You then have to click to proceed. So yeah its normal.

    congrats, you just prestiged your character.

    uppon prestiging, you get said bloody cosmetic, but therefore the characters progress gets reset.

    you can prestige a character up to 3 times by the way, so if you wish to get a fully bloody cosmetic set of them, you'll have to do that twice more.


    however, all his teachable perks will stay unlocked - both on the character and on others.
