I think some Killers help some survivors escape at times because...

Perhaps they don't trust or agree with the entity and want to help the survivors. I mean they are essentially the ones who do all of the entities dirty work so it would make sense.

In lore, never happens. Killers always go for the kill. In real life, we let them escape sometimes because we feel like it, some of us try being nice, if there's an event with an item that's a pain the the ######### ass to get, etc. If a Killer ever holds back on you, don't flashlight or T bag them because the next one you might might very well wreck you and it'll be karma. Killer/Survivor harmony is a very turbulent and delicate balance.

I sometimes let survivors escape, if they are being cute.

I assume in the lore it somewhat makes sense as well, since the survivor is supposed to have some hope. So if a killer like, say, Nurse is too oppressive, they would lose hope the moment they heard the screech.

i let a survivor go because another survivor gave up his/her hiding position after he/she had unhooked him

If the survivor submits to me at the end of the match. I always give them the EXIT. The way I see it. Doing that and keeping them coming back to the realm of despair keeps the game, ... ALIVE. 😈

The Killers usually fall under a couple of categories which means lorewise they have no reason to let the survivors live.

    1) They simply enjoy killing: Freddy, Ghostface, Myers, Huntress

    2) They deluded themselves into thinking they're doing something right: Amanda Plauge, Deathslinger, Oni

    3) They made a arrangement, pact or promise with The Entity: Hag Spirit pyramid head.

    4) They get incentives: Clown Legion

    5) Tortured: Trapper, Doctor, Wraith Nurse

    6) They are afraid of the entity's punishments: Hillbilly and Bubba

And then you have Demi Logorgon who is just going off of Animal Instinct and is also a very valid girl

As Frank, I like to spare Jeffs because I imagine they recognise each other from when the mural was commissioned. The Legion even uses Jeff's stolen sketchbook as an addon!

Lorewise this never happens. Killers are either have no interest in that or they are simply afraid to do so.

To the people saying 'lorewise this never happens' I'm pretty sure the devs say sometimes killers can show mercy, like the Pig. The Entity allows killers to kill survivors by their own hand if they 'earned' it with memento moris and the Entity doesn't get any sustenance, so why couldn't the killers be allowed to occasionally spare someone? Means the same to the Entity, killed or spared.
