Can everyone stop being grammar nazis on the forums?
Hello, I have been on the forums for a bit over a month now. What I have noticed on my first month on the forums, is that there are a lot of grammar nazis. Grammar nazis are people who feel it is their duty to correct everyone's grammar, even though nobody asked and it is very off topic. The problem with this, is that some people don't have english as their main language, and it is a very bold assumption for people to think this. Another problem is that it is very off topic, and adds nothing to the conversation at all. Most of the time, even if someone has bad grammar, you can tell what they're saying. I had a small spelling mistake today when I said "brang" instead of "brought" and some person mocked me. Brang is actually a word, it is the past tense of bring. I think we should all keep our comments on topic, and not be grammar nazis about it.

Brang is actually the past tense of "bring", not "brought", which is already past tense :p.
Seriously though, I agree with you completely. People make little errors when they type! Heck, listen to how people speak and you'll discover many errors grammatically! Just because someone decided to look for an error doesn't make them superior. It just means that person who spelt something wrong spelt it wrong. It does not make them stupid.
Yeah, ignore those idiots. And feel free to ignore my first paragraph too!

Well, english is my second language so I appreciate when someone types it correctly. I am not saying my spelling it's the best but there are mistakes and mistakes, some people type incorrectly because it's easier or take less time (it happens in my own language as well), wich creates what in spanish we call a "language bad habit", meaning someone writes incorrectly, you copy that mistake and then it's too hard for you to unlearn it, which affects you if you try to get a better job in which you need to know said language. I do agree that we are not perfect and being corrected get us angry but... it's part of the learning. If you see my games as killer/ survivor, you would probably correct me in the same way. I can't be angry for that.

As someone who’s half Japanese Italian and Hawaiian believe me I make errors in any language.

The fact you probably speak many languages still leaves you far more qualified than I and a lot of others, so I wouldn't woorry about it :)

Nein schwein! i kid,i kid.
I think its in everyone's best interest to use the best and most proper grammar that they can, if people grammar's aren't perfect then obviously we shouldn't crucify them over it. But I've been here since the day the forum was launched and I have to say that most people's responses to bad grammar has been pretty civil, I honestly don't believe you should be on the internet if you can get so easily offended like that. Even speakers, writers and authors makes grammar mistakes from time to time, you wouldn't see them calling people nazi's when people correct them over grammar mistakes.
Not everyone's first language is English and I believe that writing proper grammar is important for people who might not be as well verse or familiar with language helps them out especially if they are still learning the language and want to interact with people using it. In the long run this helps us get more community data and feedback, because there can be more people contributing to the conversations because they understand what people are saying.
But honestly that's just me.
