The only thing wrong about Deathslinger
If he failes to reel you in and you escape, you still become injured and get the Deep Wound status effect. Why ? If you outplay or outsmart him then why do you get punished for it ? Is there some reason why this is like this ? Please enlighten me.

Because in reality it's not an outplay and just lucky something was there to break the chain..plus he is a 110 with no pallet punish so if he had to reel you in every single hit hed be the worst killer in dbd..so that pretty much sums it up

nah you're right having a harpoon stuck in your chest and forcefully ripping it out (literally breaking the chain it is attached to) doesnt injure you in the slightest.
he hit you, therefore he at least gets you injured, so the effort he went through shooting wasnt for nothing. therefore he cant down you without succesfully reeling you in.
also you can hardly call it "outsmarting him", when he sniped you from a long distance and you happened to have a random object around you could get behind. you dont "outplay" a deathslinger while being on his chain - he already outplayed you in that scenario.

Because you don't get downed and he gets a lengthy stun on top of needing to reload while slowed, and if you break the chain every time you will never go down, waste a lot of his time, and essentially reset the chase.
