For all those who wondered if it was a licensed killer or what legend was inspired by Rin Yamaoka (The Spirit), looking a bit 'here and I found it to those who are inspired by this new DLC.

The story is inspired by the Onryō:
"Onryō is a Japanese ghost who can return to the world of the living to seek revenge.
Defenseless by living, these ghosts have suffered in life because of their husband or lover. Once dead, the onryōs become very powerful and seek their redemption. "

For those who do not know the history of Rin, I'll explain it in a few words:
Rin was the only child of the Yamaoka family, a family that due to her university studies, had to face considerable expenses, so much so that Rin worked part-time to make a small contribution. Suddenly his wife gets sick, and the bills begin to accumulate, then the desperate father asks for an increase or a loan to his employer, who not only refuses to give him, but is accused of a defective production of a line of products the company where he worked, then he is also fired. At this point he goes crazy. The daughter, Rin, as she is coming home, hears screams from the floor above her house, rushes in and sees her mother torn to pieces (I spare you the details), the father held a katana of course, and begins to hit also the daughter cutting some parts of the body (forearm, arm, leg etc.). Finally he takes her by the hair and slams her against a glass partition that splits and drops it down. At this point she wants at all costs to go upstairs to take revenge on what the father had done, although in reality he was dying, he could not even move, here intervenes the entity that allows him to make a deal by returning it to life and allowing him to take revenge.

I take this opportunity to explain in short also the story of Adam (the survivor), it is very short:
Practically he was a student who then decides to move to Japan in search of work, one day it happens that the train makes an accident overturned on himself, he to defend a girl who was next to him who was about to be crushed by a door that He detaches from the car next to him, puts himself in front of and closes his eyes. Suddenly he does not hear or see anything, the darkness envelops him and he only feels ice all over his body. (I do not know if you know it but the katana that Rin has when he hits something makes a noise similar to the ice that splits, so it is clear that she saves him).
