Why are people able to stop Ghostface's Night Shroud by just facing their camera angle at him?
I play both survivor and killer but recently I've been playing more killer sided as Ghostface. I'm obsessed with his perks and power but something that came to my mind was "why are people able to stop me from stalking when they aren't even actually looking at me".
For example, Spine Chill goes off when the killer is looking in your direction, meaning that they are FACING toward you but may or may not see you. Survivors are able to " look" at Ghostface with their backs facing him across the trial.
He already has a really good power and perhaps I shouldn't be complaining in the first place but it would be nice if survivors had to actually face the direction he was in to stop his stalking power.

this is what happens when you play both sides you begin to see how things are.

it looks right to me because when they turn their camera their heads also turns
well i think its fair because ghostface also hides his terror radius

I don't think there's a system in place to check where the survivor model is facing.
Implementing one just for gf would be unnecessary.

Yeah, it's really neat like that. I've discovered a lot of tricks and game playing styles by playing both sides and it's really beneficial while I play. It's a good way to get really good at playing both survivor and killer.

Yeah, that's true. I don't have a heartbeat so they can't hear me coming but rarely do people NOT look around while working on a gen so it's hard to actually stalk them unless I'm in a cornfield or tall grass.

There's no reveal if the line of sight to GF is blocked (barring latency or broken texture). Whenever I hear the reveal sound, I just instinctively crouch. That usually stops it and I've had some real staring contests with survivors just in front of me.

True true

Yeah, I just said that. The killers have to be FACING the direction of where the survivor is for Spine Chill to go off.
And yes, I'm able to quickly hide if they see me to avoid being caught but lately, it just feels like that isn't working at all. I get spotted for a SECOND and my screen is blowing up with notifications of people looking at me while running away or that my power was stopped. But I get what you mean.

Then he could easily stalk you during a chase because if you turn around to look at him you're going to get hit.

Oh no of course, I understand that, but in a chase situation, they could be able to stop him from stalking. It would cool if they just had to actually face him to stop him while they are working on gen or they could stop working on the gen and then face him.

You guys can reveal Ghost Face? :D
I kid, I kid (...kind of) but I have no issues with it. GF would be ridiculously overpowered if a survivor had to actually turn their body and look right at GF to kill his shroud (like in chases).
To me, it's just the nature of the two views. If the killer was in 3rd person, I'd guess SC would activate if the camera looks at the survivor too (or if survivors were in 1st person, gf depowers when looking in the direction of gf).

I feel his power and the way it is revealed is not consistent. I have had matches were I look directly at him, nothing in betweens us and nothing happens. Others, just a glimpse at him and the reveal process starts. I have had matches were I am being chased, the chase music is on and later, when he hits me, it plays the sound of him getting of the stalk, which makes no sense, if he was already chasing me and I dropped a pallet and I saw him way before he hit me.

Absolutely agree, after reading some comments I've decided to also leave it alone. I guess he would be really overpowered if survivors had to actually face him😂.

I think that would be a bit unnecessary and make him op
And as for the spine chill comparison its because the killer Has a 1st person pov so it wouldnt make sense if it would activate when the killers isnt even looking at you

A good ghostface will not stalk during a chase, unless the survivor is very close, if they're 99'd or if you can get a good lean angle when they're close. Otherwise, you are going too slow and won't benefit, as the survivor will loop you.

Because the developers don’t know how to implement raycasting lol. It’s pretty unfair when someone you can’t even see takes you out of Night Shroud.

That's just how ghosts work:

Lots of good information in here. But 4:16 discusses the revel mechanic.

Spinechill counters killers especially Ghostface and other stealth killers.
Ironwill counters killers especially Spirit
No Mither counters killers like Oni... no ... wait...

Thank you! I'll make to watch it in a bit.

Np. He has lots of useful guides and information. Some of it is a little out of date. But generally still pretty accurate.
