New Killer: The Law.

From a young age, Darius Langstrum’s life was always filled with difficulties. Growing up, Darius’ hero, his father, a hardworking Police Deputy was killed in a fiery car-crash, caused by a drunken driver. Devastated, his mother turned to drugs to suppress her sorrow and anguish, eventually slipping into a deep depressive state.

What followed for Darius was even more hardship, with his mother having a long, revolving door of boyfriends, who tended to be drug addicts and Meth heads. Whilst high in another room, his mother would be oblivious to the abuse her young son would suffer at the hands of these overbearing bullies. Much like his favourite book, Homer’s Odyssey, Darius would wish his father would one day return home, and slaughter the pigs that his mother endorsed. Darius vowed that one day he would be able to protect those who could not protect themselves, following in his late father’s footsteps, as an officer of the law.

As the years progressed, his mother continued to live in poverty. Meanwhile, Darius worked hard every day of his life, every dollar, every cent, to ensure that he could one day make it to Ohio’s Police Academy. When that day came, it was the beginning of a new Chapter in his life. Some time later, the aspiring Officer graduated, passing with flying colours. His first act, to clean up his mother’s ex-boyfriends.

Three years later, life is swell for Darius: he recently took a promotion as a Deputy, becoming the youngest man to do so; he is married to his high school sweetheart, Pam Franklin, and he and his wife were expecting a child. One day, Officer Langstrum received an “All-Units call”, where a Meth Lab was under siege by his fellow officers, now requesting backup. In his cruiser, Darius took off to the scene, arriving to a hail of gunfire. Hopping out the cruisers and hiding behind cover, Darius joined the shootout.

As more addicts fell, the further he and the other Officers pushed into the backwater building. Leading the charge, Darius pursued one man down a corridor, determined to catch him. However, reaching the end of the corridor, he realised how easily he had been fooled. Now revealing themselves, five more addicts crawled out from behind a nook, all taking aim and firing upon the young Deputy. Whilst Darius lay there, fuzzy-headed, blood gushing from the many holes in his chest, he cursed those who had always harmed him; those that abused him; those that caused him pain. Hearing his cry of anguish, and lust for blood, the Entity encased Darius, sustaining his life, as long as he promised to serve the Entity, killing all who lurked their realms, becoming “The Law.”

The Law’s Power: Constable on Patrol (COP.)

The Law has an extraordinary ability to act on his hunches and use his policing equipment to the best of his ability. Once a generator is first started to be repaired by a survivor, that survivor’s aura is revealed to the Law for 10 seconds. Additionally, the Law comes equipped with 3 pairs of handcuffs. Once a survivor is placed in the dying state, the Law has the ability to place a pair of handcuffs on a survivor. Whilst the survivor has a pair of handcuffs on, they are unable to perform certain actions which include: repairing generators, healing other survivors and unhooking other survivors. To release themselves from the handcuffs, the survivor must sacrifice two pallets-when not in a chase-to the Entity, in order to have their handcuffs removed.

The Law’s Perks:

(1). Behind Bars.

Once one survivor his hooked, “Behind Bars” is activated. Once The Law reaches any generator on the map, he will be able to block any generator, using the “activate ability” button to, with a wrought-iron cell, rendering it unusable for 30 seconds. Only one generator can be blocked at any one time, up to a maximum of 3 times.

(2). 10-55.

A common Police code used, when bodies are found at Crime Scenes. Once survivors have repaired 2 generators, “10-55” activates. When a survivor, who has already been hooked, is placed in the dying state, the killer has the option to kill the survivor on the spot. “10-55” can only be used once per match.

(3). You’re nicked!

A usual phrase used upon Officers arresting Perps. Each time the killer hooks survivors 3 times, “You’re nicked!” activates. Once the third survivor is hooked, all generators on the map are regressed 15%, and continue to regress, until stopped. “You’re nicked!” can only be used a maximum of 3 times.

New Map: West Rise Police Station.

The West Rise Police Station, Ohio, is a 1990s Police Station. It is an in door map, with an outside area with certain structures. I wish that this map is quite balanced, with the size being the same as “Father Campbell’s Chapel”. There should be a variety of both safe and unsafe loops and windows, being a map enjoyable for both Killers and Survivors. Structures I would like to see included are:

  • Cells for detainees (perhaps when a Generator is fully repaired, it can open several cells, which contain Chests and Totems, to be the room where you gain the achievement for repairing the Generator and escaping.)
  • Property rooms for storing evidence and seized property.
  • Lockers and storerooms for storing equipment.
  • A reception desk for public visitors.
  • Car park for different vehicles (An outdoor area, with many Police Cruisers and CSI vans. This is a fairly large area-it takes up around 1/5 of the map.

Please feel free to leave feedback-it really helps; tell me what you like, what should be changed, etc. However, see this Killer from both a survivor and killer perspective. Thank you for your time!
