Stridor gamers - I got some questions

In all my years I've never touched that perk to be honest. However I want to switch things up and try something new so I wanted to ask:

1) Is it worth a perk slot in your opinion (despite the sound bugs) as in: Can you tell it has an impact on your average matches?

2) can you hear injured survivors behind walls or do they get completely muted similar to certain generators?

3) can you reliably tell exactly from what direction grunts of pain are coming from (outdoor and indoor maps?) despite the raised volume?

4) Has it ever helped you find immersed survivors due to the increased breathing sounds?

The increased volume helps to notice that a survivor is in the vicinity but it messes with the fence of distance if you are not used to it.

The range is relatively large and sometimes when I use it I think that a survivor is behind a close object (wall, tires,....) but in reality is behind something behind that object. So maybe don't get too used to it, or playing without it will be harder.

I never noticed the sound bugs that are current, so no comment on that from me.

    Tl.Dr:

    1. Positive and negative impact: find survivors easier vs messes with your sense for the exact position if the survivors

    2. yes you can hear them

    3. Depends, if the sounds range without the perk is let's say 20° then it goes up to 50° subjectively

    4. Yes

For me personally, the best use of stridor is hearing immersed survivors hiding in corners, tall grass and lockers - since I got decent headphones recently, I can actually hear breathing pretty clearly which is actually really useful. Another thing it helps me with is not mindgaming myself when chasing iron will players.

That's where the upsides for me personally end. It's extremely annoying to hear injured survivors so loudly. It also throws me off when a survivor (without iron will) leaves a loop, but still sounds so loud that i sometimes think they haven't left.

All in all, it sometimes helps me find survivors and it sometimes makes me lose them. I may use it if i see 2-3 blends in my lobby, but it's definitely not one of my favourite perks.
