Billy will finally require skill?
So now that Billy will require skill all the entitled killer mains are "quitting", is that really a bad thing tho? No not at all actually. Making a killer require skill does not make them bad, if all u do as billy is rev your chainsaw until u can oneshot u prob shouldn't be playing a game thats based around chases, u have an m1 attack for a reason, plus it doesn't even stop him from sprinting at all. Ppl need to stop overreacting over small changes and calling every killer F tier cuz of their power having a cooldown, smth as strong as Billy's power should not be used 24/7. Is Spirit F tier cuz her power has a cooldown and she is a 110 movement speed? Plus the bubba changes seem good and we haven't even gotten a chance to test it. It reminds me of when Legion got changed and everyone thought omg they killed legion what are they doing etc etc. Then we tested it and it felt good and fair. Can we all wait and see how it feels instead of shitting on the devs the moment they change anything?

High skill billies will be the ones most effected by this.
This is because the most skillful part of his kit is how to use his flick for anti-looping. And if you watched high level billy gameplay (which to be fair I only did recently because of these upcoming changes) then you would know that doing this involves feathering the saw for upwards of 6-8 seconds to bait the Survivor to get out of position. Now while that may not be strictly speaking impossible, if you take into account the heat needed to get to the Survivor in the first place, you'd often reach the Survivor and be unable to do a flick because of the cooldown.
If you are a low skill Billy, then this won't matter because you don't know how to properly flick the chainsaw anyways. You'd either go for backreving (which you can still do) or M1ing.
But at high level this removes your primary means of anti-looping entirely. This isn't like other cooldowns because most cooldowns in general happen AFTER the action is taken, thus if you already got the value out of the power anyways then it being unusable doesn't really matter all that much, however the cooldown in this case happens BEFORE the action is taken, meaning it can deny your ability to get that value in the first place.

Billy already requires skill, your post title is enough for me to disregard anything else you say since you very obviously don't have any idea what you are talking about.
28 -
That's exactly what I think. The change will raise the skill cap of Billy a little more. It is actually exciting and terrifying because we are going to see better Billys in red ranks now :S

As u wish all knowing hollowsgrief, no one is forcing u to read or even reply to this thread. I don't know what im talking about as a red rank killer and survivor that plays the game for fun as its intended, this game is not competitive and get over it, not every game is meant to be 4k, 2k is a win in itself Billy requiring MORE skill is not bad at all but as u wish idk what im talking about.
0 -
I don't think you play killer at red ranks.
Being able to chainsaw good/strong survivors at loops took skill.
Then again I doubt you're even that experienced as survivor, as experienced survivors enjoy going against a good Hillbilly. It actually brought an adrenaline rush to survivor game play, when chased by a good Hillbilly.

This change will barely change his skill cap at all. Billy won't require more or less skill because micromanaging a cooldown meter isn't skillful, it's tedious.
7 -
Im not someone with 4k or 8k hrs in the game but going against a billy good or bad is just boring as his hitbox is gigantic. I guess the only way to be experienced is if u enjoy going against billy not how many hrs u have in the game. Your comment makes 0 sense as liking going against a killer doesn't mean they need to be nerfed/buffed just cuz of how u feel. The devs own the game they have the stats we don't if they think their game needs changes they'll change it. Until then be experienced and enjoy versing billy
1 -
Managing anything on top of everything will always add to the skill cap, more or less doesn't matter it adds on top of what u already had to do there for rewarding ppl who manage it better

This new Billy ALLOWS for LESS skill. Since the high skill tech's his power had relied on being able to hold the saw for an extended period of time.
This isn't like the Nurse change since she didn't have any tech involving back to back blinks, nor is it like the Spirit changes where they reduced her margin of error without effecting what she was potentially capable of.
The perfect Pre-nerf Nurse is roughly as strong as the perfect post-nerf Nurse
The perfect Pre-nerf Spirit is roughly as strong as the perfect post-nerf Spirit
The perfect Pre-nerf Billy is massively weaker than the perfect post-nerf Billy.
That is the difference between this nerf and the other 2.
7 -
Billy was already one of the higher skill cap killers.
5 -
You simply do not know what you talk about. Please understand what people actually complain about before you mention sprint or anything of the like lol.
Ayrun a very good dbd player, fumes about those changes. I take his word over yours.
5 -
Take whoever's word u want lol. I didn't say im the god of dbd and everyone has to listen to me. It'll cost u nothing to not answer to a thread u don't agree with. Do i care what Ayrun has to say? No, why? Cuz i have a brain of my own and i can choose what i like and dislike
1 -
He required a lot of skill. Now he's a dead killer. You'd have to go against potatoes to win. Cooldowns are not the way.

Can anyone tell me when playing survivor will take skill?
0 -
I guess holding m2 is a big skill mind game but having to be quick and take high risk for high reward makes it less skilled. Is plague high skill when she is holding her vomit instead of spraying it out as soon as its charged so she can hit more of it and break u faster. Plus holding it just made u slower, thats like saying demo holding his shred takes more skill than normal demo as he can either break the pallet or get a hit, the faster smth is the more skill it requires holding smth for ages before u decide its time is not skill
0 -
Never, its not how the role is made, the core game itself is simplistic and easy to learn. Nothing requires actual "skill" in this game as hitboxes are simple shapes like circles, capsules etc. A killer can just hold w and m1 u instead of using their power they have the choice. Survivor can simply not require skill as its based on map rng and holding m1 on a gen
1 -
Imagine thinking that about killers.
1 -
Well if u noticed all ppl complain about is cuz they can't keep revving and not actual skilled billy play. As the devs said u can still curve feather etc.
0 -
U are telling me a trapper for example MUST use his traps? No, if he wants to he will just W and M1, eventually he'll catch up as he is faster than a survivor its how the game is, im talking core gameplay not red rank matches. The game as a design is as simple as it can be but whatever

Go ahead and hit each survivor with a basic attack. Do that and find that the game is over by the time you have your fourth down. Hey, how many times do you need to hook survivors in order to kill all of them? Oh, wait... you need to hook a survivor 12 times in a single game to kill them all. Huh. Weird.
0 -
Continuing to rev the chainsaw is being complained about because it's a prerequisite for his mindgames.
If you can't hold the rev, you can't do any of his Killer specific mindgames.
6 -
I'm so happy these changes are happening. The constantly revving Hillbilly that moves at 100% survivor speed until you make the slightest move wrong getting a 1 hit down is actually going to die, as is limitless map mobility back and forth.
These were some of the worst parts of Hillbilly, and I'm so glad the devs didn't chicken out against the "MoSt BaLaNcEd KiLlEr" parrots.
On the broader side, nerfing Hillbilly to take some of the skill that the 19 killers have to learn to different degrees means that the window opens for more general killer changes. Without this one outlyer of infinite mobility, easy as hell one hit downs on every loop, etc, the game can actually get balanced in ways that would have otherwise just made him more disgustingly strong.
2 -
When are we getting nerfs to some survivor perks to weed out those bad players? Asking for a friend.
5 -
It's sad that people don't care about letherface buff though...He literally will now have a counter to loops! Look how fast and long his chainsaw sweep is!
2 -
Weak bait m8.
Billy is regarded as the most balanced killer in the game and with a very high skill cap.
1 -
Billy was one of the most balanced, and skillful killers in the game. Now hes a boring M1 killer.

this

U literally refuse to understand what core game is don't u. I'll try to make it simple, put a trapper and a meg on a straight path they start walking at the same time will the trapper catch up and be able to m1 her without using his power? yes or no? (the answer is yes) thats what core game is its how the game functions as i said this is not talking red rank gameplay we are talking about how much skill the game itself requires which is low on both ends (survivor obviously lower)
0 -
Said it yourself, "regarded" but he is not, its just what ppl say cuz they like him since he is original. Its the same in every games theres always community favorites and theres nothing wrong with that until it goes too far like now with all the posts shitting on the devs for changing the game which is what everyone wants?
0 -
It's easy to make the game simple when you ignore whole game mechanics.
0 -
Agreed 100%, nothing about holding m2 and moonwalking is skill, literally every killer has to know basic mind games doing it while revving doesn't make him more skilled
1 -
Billy always required skill tho?
0 -
Just like how the doc changes made him "bottom tier killer" right? Remember that anyone? How doc was getting "nerfed into the ground cuz the devs are stupid" etc etc did everyone forget about that
0 -
Becausing holding down M1 on a generator, listening for the terroradius, and then running to one of dozens of safe loops scattered around the maps takes so much skill as well.
1 -
Don't remember saying it does, in fact i said it doesn't lol
0 -
Billy is not skilled killer? Ok surv main troll detected. Hope that ds and unbrekable gets nerf in the future since that are no skilled base perks.
0 -
If you're relatively new to the game you're not in a position to have an accurate opinion on the game's balance.
The reason new survivor players don't like going against Hillbilly, compared to survivor players who have been playing the game for a long time is that experienced players know how to counter Hillbilly.
When playing against current Hillbilly you need to stick to structures, if you're in the open you're giving the Hillbilly a free down. However, a good Hillbilly can use their chainsaw at loops. If going against a good Hillbilly, it is all about your positioning. If the survivor plays the loop better they are able to stay alive for a long time, if the survivor makes a mistake then they get downed.
Player feed back is important, without our feed back Ghostface would still be terrible, infinite loops, moon walking Legions, and old DS would still be in the game.
0 -
The current hillbilly is brainless so any change in the direction of him not being able to spam his power would be an improvement.
2 -
Well u say survivors require no skill, but then u want to weed out bad survivor players 🤔
0 -
No, you'll have easier games in the red ranks.
You can flood the red ranks with the best Billy players and the games will still be easier because they're flat out removing certain options and highly limiting others.
1 -
Exactly, people have parroted this for years. They don't mean 'most balanced,' they mean 'I can do well playing Billy when I suck as other killers.' They mean 'every streamer under the sun 4ks consistently as him.' They mean 'I only see something as balanced when it makes the game easy.' They mean 'a streamer parroted "billy most balanced" so I have to too.'
Billy has been head and shoulders above all other killers (bar old Nurse and maybe Spirit) for a long time now. He's been an outlier amongst all the killers who are ACTUALLY balanced by cooldowns and windows where the survivor actually has a chance to break a chase.
They don't like playing that way so anything that skips over the actual skill-based part of killer is 'balanced.'
0 -
they mean most balanced because he is.
xD
it is so cute to see the boosted people claim some bs about balance and when they can not make a point as to why billy is unbalanced.
0 -
Classic. "Boosted" being the people who actually worked to get to high ranks with killers considered difficult, boosted obviously not referring to those who spammed Billy's easy-mode to cruise at every rank.
0 -
classic. never played billy, never did a curve yet babbling about skill.
0 -
I played Billy to get all his achievements, I play him every time I have a daily. Every time it is filthy how easy he is and doesn't feel rewarding to play because of it.
0 -
Nuclearburrito already said all that needs to be said right in the first reply.
so, I'm just gonna laugh at the idea that playing billy takes no skill.
1 -
People are shitting on the devs cause NOBODY ASKED for a Hillbilly change.
People want them to make changes that have been requested by the community, not to pull out a bs nerf out of their ass for NO fking reason at all.
0 -
This is exactly what i thought as i saw the changes. We will see a lot of SF+Enduring Billys after the nerf.
0 -
No, because we won't see a lot of billy's.
0 -
Sorry, i meant in correlation to the number of billys we see at all.
So the one billy we see in a decade will use SF+Enduring and Bamboozle.
