New Prestige Leaked on PTB?
During my first game on the PTB, I got hit with an M1 and magically my Cheryl got bloody clothing that stayed like that the rest of the match even when I was healed. To me, this appears to be a bug that is showing the new prestige cosmetics because if its a new feature it makes the prestige bloody cosmetics kind of pointless.
This is probably part of the Prestige rework mentioned in the Anniversary stream. Bloody cosmetics for every skin not just the defaults. Personally, I've been wanting this for a while and it makes so much sense now that there are locked outfits because it means you can still show off your prestige even though you can't mix and match clothing.

God I hope not, it seems like such a waste of dev resources. I'd rather they work on original things that they can actually make money off of and invest back into the game.

afaik this isnt prestige, its just something cool that happens when you get hit

Unlikely. The clothing stayed bloody even when I was healed. And this is a locked outfit that can't be used with the current prestige so it was obviously programmed in separately.

This is a new effect that survivors get now when hit. I feel like its a neat detail added. I was kinda off put that there wasn't any blood on the survivors when hit, so this is a welcome change for me.

Yes you get bloodied when you are hit. Healing doesn't clean the blood off.

Leaves potential hope for the crowns

Again that doesn't make sense. Because it makes the current prestige meaningless since clothing gets bloody naturally in the match. It seems much more likely that its a bug.
2 -
How could that possibly be a bug? And the blood is different. Doesn't look as bloody as prestige.
5 -
It still feels like a bug. Why would the reward for prestige be bloody clothing?
And then four years later the Devs add in a mechanic that makes all clothing bloody for the majority of the match

That’s probably why they asked a question about gore in a recent survey.
3 -
Leaks say this is indeed a new mechanic and not a bug.

If that's a really new feature then prestiging needs a rework to make it viable to prestige even after you've maxed their perks.
@Peanits If this is a thing shall players who didn't prestige their characters for any reason now be punished and lose all perks and hundreds of addons and offering if they want to prestige ?

It’s a new feature, not a bug. Similar to taking damage in the Friday the 13th game. It’s also very minimal blood compared to prestige outfits.

I mean, if a big, mean guy hits you with his weapon, you surely get hurt and bloody. Now someone stitches you back together - why should your clothes be clean afterwards?
2 -
It's not a bug. However, I feel like the blood should disappear once you're healed to make the prestige outfits more worth it.
@Peanits can you please suggest this to the team?

While yes that makes sense, I still think the blood should disappear after you're healed to make prestige a little more worth it. Also, some cosmetics I actually really like and dont want them bloody most of my match. I'm using Jane's recent pink shirt as an example. I really like the graphic on the back and wouldn't want it covered by blood for 90% of my match.
The effect is cool don't get me wrong. But I'd be happy if the blood dissapeared once you're healed.

i wouldn’t like the effect if it disappeared, it doesn’t make sense at all and while this game is far from realistic some touches are very much appreciated

I agree with this particularity after Billy nerf

While yes it is more realistic. There are some cosmetics I really like the look of. I used Jane's new shirt as an example. There's a really pretty graphic on the back and it would suck if it was covered up 90% of the match. I really like the effect but I wouldn't want all my cosmetics covered up for most of my matches.

Not sure why the blood just "poofs" when you're hooked, though.
Skip to about 6:38. you'll see the bloody Adam suddenly go totally un-bloodied when hooked.

Those of us with a lot of p3 characters would definitely like to see bloody effects put onto paid DLC clothing if it's earned.

Personally I hope that this replaces prestige. Rather than only getting a bloody default option, you get a toggle for blood effects when hit.
It has a few positives.
One, the only reason they've been against prestige for all cosmetics is they need to manually bloody every single one, this being a dynamic overlay seems to remove that.
Two, it means we can use P3 effects without being lobby dodged for looking experienced.
Three, screw Blendettes.

omg I swear you are all idiots....IT IS AN AFFECT, ONCE YOU ARE HIT YOU HAVE BLOOD ON YOU THAT IS IT! NOTHING ELSE....IT IS JUST A NEW MECHANIC TO LOOK COOL...jesus christ

Looks similar to the vomit when playing against the Plague.
1 -
Well, PTB is kinda buggy. For example, the first hours you weren't able to hear hit sounds in the games.
0 -
Well it was never promised prestige wouldn't change in the future, and it was your choice to pump points into what you knew was an 'incomplete' character. Why should you be given anything that players who chose to spend 200 levels of points to prestige aren't?
1 -
This bloody when hit looks like a new dynamic... that is not related at all with future prestige changes. Looks like graphic improvement.
3 -
But they would need to create a whole new effect for blood to splatter and stick to clothes/skin. I just don't think it could possibly be a bug.

the game seems to be going away from prestige, theres no real reason to do it, and with the addition of cossmetics prestiging is more and more unecessary, however, I still prestige my killers
0 -
Making every outfit P3 would require a lot of work.
A Blood Splatter effect upon taking a hit makes more sense.
0 -
As other members said, its a visual effect upon getting hit. Prestige aren't something we'll have soon enough.
0 -
That’s just part of the graphics overhaul to make the game more realistic has nothing to do with prestige

How does shirtless David look!?

Edit: never mind

Isn't it just a reskin of the Plague vomit?
