This is what happens when a company pretty much has a monopoly on the asymmetrical game genre. They can do whatever they want to the game because there is no better alternative for people to play, so therefore no reason to keep the playerbase happy when everyone will come back to dbd anyways.

You don't go through a ptb with huge changes to just scrap them. Only Nintendo and Naughty Dog do that.
