logical PROOF that Billy nerf will have the OPPOSITE effect!
This message is to people who support Billy nerf and who dont support Billy nerf!
tl;dr: Overheat will force people to abandon high risk plays like "curves" (that would end in escaping opportunity) and force low risk high reward gameplay like "saw back rubbing" which will end up in more frustrating experience for survivors.
True version:
People who want Billys basekit to be nerfed have this arguments:
- high mobility with no cooldown
- instant down with chainsaw
- no cooldown on instant down
- no work for power
- snowball
- other killers have cooldown / or must enable ability first
Now I will tell you what Billy is doing on live (as main survivor and main billy from all killers):
- Billy has indead high mobility
- instant down is in over 80% of the time due to back rubbing !!! which is Low risk High Reword.
- less then 20% of the time random sprint instant downs or fun curves that are VERY HIGH RISK and Medium Reword
- high risk high reward snowball
Now we ALL agree instant saw have to go, just like oneshot huntress need to go. BUT the overheat mechanic is NOT solving any of the problems that those NERFBILLY-fanboys want! Look at my list right now again and think about it, the overheat on the sprint is pretty low, so the mobility is not nerfed. But people will not try to use that fun curves anymore, because overheat is way to much punished people will only go for the save play which is back rubbing with saw. That means that the part all those guys hate the most will be used now nearly 100% of the time and all the skillfull part is now gone because the risk is now way to high to justify the it.
I say this: Hillbilly is undienably nerfed to the ground, BUT I think that Billys Kill ratio will go up because everyone will use only the save options and camp the hook instead of sprinting away.
And the proof that the devs dont know what they are doing:
Wants with that red addon that allows to continue sprinting after destroying a pallet? When I first read it I thought when I break a pallet with the chainsaw I will only be able to hit for one health stage BUT aparantly its always one health stage! #########?! How can the devs be so dumb? I realy dont get it... How can it be that everyone who reads it first thinks of the best possible version of the addon and then ends up frustrated about the devs not picking it but instead make a garbage addon. 90% of addons are pure garbage on every killer! I am no dev and you (random person reading this) are no dev but I am sure that you and me could think of better addons then the actual devs... and thats a very bad sign.
DEAR DEVS can we plaese use the democratic approach and vote for changes with yes or no? because you are forcing stuff like some dictators that mahority of people dont agree! And the worst part is you remove more and more fun from this game. Cooldowns... ever heard that waiting was fun? Me neither.
Thanks for reading

To be fair calling people dictators, because they change something they own and have the right to (potentially ruin) is a hell of a dumb argument. With that said, I personally hated Billys just holding their goddamn chainsaw at loops forcing me to make a either a guess or a mistake because they just kept getting closer. When they were in my face I didnt care about it. I would try to spin/outplay. Because at that moment, ok fair enough I was caught out of position. Its basically a problem with insta downs in general in this game. Most killers with insta down dont move a the speed of light as well.
With all that out of the way. Its a wrong approach at least the current itteration is to nerf Billy. I personally like his addons(except the move fast when a flashlight shines on you....lul what?), and im tired of the overpowered iridescent ones that some killers have, huntress especially comes to mind. I prefer purple/iridescent to be ones that change the way a killer is played or to be ones that inhance his powers without just buffing the numbers. This does not include the boring debuffs that pyramid head got like Blindness or hemorraghe. Just remove these debuffs from the game and nothing would change.
Same goes for the debuff addons for Bubba like the broken and mangled. It doesnt make sense since no survivors are gonna be hurt by these things for more than 10 seconds or something like that. Makes them slower/unable to heal for 90 seconds. Make it 2 minues and maybe its worth talking about. Since unless they get immediately unhooked or even healed from dying state then those 90 seconds wont work for all that long. But at least its better than billys old "slows gen repair speed" jesus that was terrible.

I agree with most of what you said. And I would love to have some kind of voting of what the comminity wants, it would make me feel better to know that even if an update comes that I dont agree with that alteast the majority is happy with it. But seeing what happened to nurses base kit and now with billy makes me feel that the devs are doing their own thing and dont care for the majority eventhough WE are the one who they should be thankfull! The DEVS need us more then we need them, everyone of us can stop playing DBD and find something else, but they are paying their bills with our money!

True that was also my first thought! That makes no sense that a red addon would nerf you for the whole match for MAYBE one opportunity to saw trough a pallet. That makes ZERO sense to me.

billy nerf will lead more people to approach towards braindead killers like spirit and Freddy.
