Billy is still fine?!
No matter if we like the changes or not (i am not a big fan from what i have experienced), but some people i know who played him more on the PTB think he still a good killer. He plays different tho, but stuff like curving is still a thing.

hes still playable but they brought an A rank killer down to a B/C rank killer for what reason all killers should be around A rank

He is saying what I've been saying that the Chainsaw is still deadly, yet you just have to time it right.

He's still fine as a killer, yes. Nobody's really denying that fact. But he's so incredibly lame to play now. Backrev simulator, he's gonna be so boring to play against. You're almost never gonna get a curve on good survivors now because you don't have enough time before you overheat, and almost everyone will be too afraid to do anything cool with him anymore because of how punishing it is. Hell even new players and people who tried Billy before will see that you have almost no time at all to rev the saw before it overheats, so mindgaming with it is pointless and they'll just follow them until they are up their ass and can then backrev. What fun.

You can curve and even mindgames are possible. The guy who plays billy in the video is obviously like everyone else not used to the new mechanic, but he already gets some nice curves and some good chainsaw hits.

you cant curve if you do you try you 180 and you cant maindgame cause you build up the overheat to fast feathering your chainsaw

Playable? Yes. Top tier? Nope. This is a pretty harsh gutting. I'll be surprised if he's anything beyond mid tier after this rework.

I hardly play as Billy so I can't judge. I did play a lot of Nurse and we all know how that went. These devs tend to go too far or not enough when it comes to balance. Ever notice every "rework" tends to work for weak killers and hurts already strong killers?
Freddy was the worst killer in the game when he first arrived. Now he is pretty solid after his rework.
Doc was weak and has improved since his rework.
Bubba is probably going to be better after his.
Legion was crap and is "slightly" less crappy.
Trapper is low to mid tier and his various QoL changes+add on rework have helped him.
Nurse was already top tier. Now she is infested with bugs and weaker than she was. Before you survivor mains scream 4x blink was op. Yes it was. I agreed with the add ons rework but her base kit was perfect before. Now she's zero fun to play as. I'm fighting the blink more than the survivors. Id hate for billy to get this treatment. The worst part is this patch will only make more killers play spirit. Or play something else.

It has a cooldown now, but it's still unlimited. The only way for myers for example to have unlimited instadowns would be red tuft which also makes it way harder to achieve, all the while myers has way less map pressure.
So let me ask again, where the heck would you put myers then.

Myers is mid tier. With his best addons/perks he might be A, A+.
But if there is a cooldown, by logical extension that means there is times in the match where he cannot do something (chainsaw), so following that he doesn't have unlimited downs because he has a cooldown. You can't have both at the same time man.

Myers literally has to stalk a ######### ton before being able to do what billy does the first second a match starts with the only difference that his instadown is easier to use. If survivors split up (like they should) and sit on gens there's nothing he can do, most of myers potential is with infectious fright snowballing which doesn't work against good teams.
The last time I saw a Myers with tuft of hair was on Lerys and he was a streamer, we COMPLETELY destroyed him, mind you we had 1 rank18 guy who was completely new to the game and could not loop at all and 2 rank10 funplayers with me being the only redrank with a fun loadout not even using exhaustion perks.

Myers has versatility. He can be played in a numerous amount of ways. Billy only has a few viable ways, and even less after the rework.

Two things to note in the video:
1) He was specifically using Pighouse Gloves, which "moderately" decreases the heat gained when starting to rev the chainsaw, and Punctured Muffler, which "slightly" increases the rate of cooling.
2) The one time he successfully chainsawed someone down at a pallet loop, it was because the Meg stopped and doubled back toward the Hillbilly.

I fail to see how billy's m1 is worse than myers his, am I missing sth? afaik myers m1 is only better in T3, worse in T1 and his vaultspeed increases in T3 but as said I haven't played him for long. He has lots of different playstyles but they are more or less gimmicky.

At T2 they're the same m1 killer yes. The key difference though is Micheal is the one in charge of when and how he uses his power. It doesn't matter if it's a bad choice or not; it's his to make.
Having a cooldown takes that choice away and only offers it to you for a limited window before it's not yours again. That's the biggest issue here, they took that away from Nurse and Billy and gave nothing in return. No new ways to use either character; just less ways.

I'll take billy's map mobility on about 80% of the maps over being able to instadown on demand with myers to be honest.
But even tho I'm consistently a r1 killer I'll call myself mediocre at best so it's probably more of a playstyle difference since I usually play killers that can easily deal with loops like freddy, spirit, pyramidhead and legion (due to height)

Not to mention he's using both the faster cooldown add-ons and still barely managing to keep it from overheating.

how is it unlimited when the nerf is literally making it limited? Have you seen the nerfs? He cant patrol as well anyone while using his power and feathering it during a chase is a no go now.

Does he have a restriction on how many times in TOTAL he can use it like Myers who cannot suck a survivor an unlimited amount of times? When was the last times that you even played agains a myers who wasn't meming with scratched mirror lol.

His power isnt that powerful if you're good at looping. Just depends on the survivors skill level which power is stronger. You might be too biased to realise, that good survivors actually dont mind the chainsaw. Just ask the good streamers for example.

Yup good survivors don't mind it because it has counterplay as is and also is a fun chase. When you keep the upperhand you will waste more time of billy compared to him going for m1s.

How can you time it right when you can't line up a shot well? They nerfed all that made billy skillful, but made the braindead *rev a saw behind them* strat the only one he can use.

The flaw with that is that the rank system he uses is to judge a certain criteria. Whether that is 4king or 2 pips, idk, but he is judging on a subjective criteria.
And, if all killers were just as good as each other in the right hands, then most of the complaints about balance might go away.

Disagree. After the nurse changes I started playing her way more. She is balanced now and fun to play in my eyes. Billy will be the same

That's just how ranking works. You have to be ranked somewhere based on your standing against your competition. If everyone is at the same level, then there's nothing to rank.

Did you play as her before the rework? The blinks don't go through objects like they used too. The CDs make traversing the map take longer. They could have just fixed her add ons and called it a job well done. Why do they have to mess with something that already works? Haven't they heard the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

It's still a bit too early to tell about balance but I think they've definitely made him less fun. Again nurse is still either 1st or 2nd place but she's just not as fun anymore.
I just think devs are clueless on how to nerf killers. If nerfing a killer is inevitable, I would prefer they just buff survivor perks to be able to counter a specific killer's toolkit.

so with your logic if every school in america averages an A in all their highschool classes there are no A grade students because there are no B,C,D,F students?Or what if someone said rank the lord of the rings movies and i put them all in A rank, with your logic that means that none of the movies area A rank and that just doesn't make any sense just because you dont have anything bad in a rank doesn't mean you cant have all good.

for the most part, yes, exactly. In your example, if everyone got graded with an A, then the system failed to measure people's actual skill. Even though everyone got an A, they don't all possess the same knowledge and thus the test did not reveal people's actual ranking among their peers, making the A that they got meaningless.

how do they not possess the same knowledge on the subjects if they all passed the test. How are they not all A students if they all studied their books and payed attention to the teachings? And what about the lord of the rings example does that mean all the lord of rings aren't A if i put them all in A and if they aren't A what are they?
