How about The Banana Splits?!
Whats that? Well it was a variety tv show with silly animal costume characters who wore red hats and played in a band. A old show from 1968 to 1970.
- Fleegle — A Dog
- Bingo — Gorilla
- Drooper — A Lion
- Snorky — A Elephant
All wearing an amusing assortment of clothes, colors and oddly shaped sunglasses.
Why bring it up? Well these characters got revamped in a horror comedy just last year. See, much like FNAF, these characters are now murder bots with a unique touch of intelligence. Programmed to entertain an audience...except...they learned the show would be cancelled, which means no more audiences and programming malfunction. So they opt to kill those trying to can the show and capture children to force them to watch as they put on a new more treacherous show~
See, now you don’t have to worry about the FNAF kiddies ruining your pretend grown up game and FNAF fans can still get murderous animatronic deathbots. As an added bonus, whenever you in the killers terror radius, you can enjoy their iconic song.

I thought of this, and I personally just don't really like their designs haha. If it's not FNAF imo, I would much prefer BHVR do their own take on the animatronic theme.

Wasn't it theorized that the banana splits movie used assets from, what would have been, the FNaF movie? I could be wrong, but I thought I heard about it somewhere.

Well, I brought it up because of the similarity but I don’t think so. My Blue Ray DVD had extra content and I see a lot of the behind the scenes info and none of it mentioned FNAF, nor was it related to animatronics in reality. Those guys were all dancers who in particular could pull off the ‘Robot’ dance very well and got stuffed in suits and asked to act for the first time in their life lol.
What really happened was a FNAF movie was talked about and a trailer dropped but then news broke (I think) that it was delayed or abandoned and suddenly this movie with many similarities dropped.
Probably just speculation?
