Will there be punishment?

I played killer yesterday, vs an swf, and i hooked someone, went away, but a gen popped and rancor showed me a survivor near the basement where the first one was hooked, so i got back, and downed him. But i couldnt pick him up at all. i tryed several times. Then the 2 flashlight guys came to rescue the other two, and i conceded the game.
I told them it was because they cheated, and they told my they didn´t cheat, they were using a bug, and that was not the same, since the devs are responsible for the bug in the first place.
I reported them anyway (also for the insults i got for camping, because going to the hook where you seen a survivor and then try to pick him up is camping, as it seems).
I get it that you can´t punish people for exploits they might not now about (like certain addon combinations and stuff), but they admitted to using that exploit on purpose to gain an advantage. I have no video, but its all in the chat protocol.
Do you think anything will happen?

I really hope something will happen.

Bug abusing and exploiting is a bannable offence. Unfortunately the reporting system is kinda bad: hope you reported the cheater both with the in game option and in the support website by opening a ticket where they also ask for the steam ID of the cheating player. You should provide video evidence as well if possible, that way you’re sure he will get banned

No, i only used the ingame report system. If thats not enough to file a report, why is it there in the first place?

The report system even has outdated descriptions, one of the categories says you should report for disconnects but that is not actually the case.
Here is a list of what requires an additional support ticket and what does not: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
Though even if you make a support ticket with video evidence there is a chance that no one will look at the video, and if someone bothers to look at all then they will watch about 10 seconds of it, according to Youtube statistics of videos that I uploaded specifically because the linked thread said additional video evidence is required.
