Deranking Rank 1

Hello. I just joined this forum because I really want to know how deranking system works at rank 1.

I'm not a whiner and I hate to say it, but it really made me mad when I saw I got deranked from 1 to 2 as survivor losing only a pip after a game where I just got literally camped.

This afternoon I was so happy because I finally achieved rank 1, I think it's cool because I started this game on early August, so I'm still learning.

I was like: "now Im not playing Survivor again or I can get deranked"... so I searched on google if I could get deranked and I saw on a stream page that you can get deranked but only if you lose few games in a row. And that you can save 5 pips max if you win games.

So I tried to do one game and I won and earned a pip. Good. I did another and won another pip. Good. Then I did a last one and I sadly lost it due to a camper who got me first and waited me to die!

But I was still safe right cause I earned 2 pip before right? Well no. Deranked.

So what I'm asking is how the deranked system works at rank 1 since I don't even have an indicator of pips and can't check how many I earned/lost.

    I usually put my coursor over my rank to see my pips (I use ps4 so I'm not sure hoe this works besides that)

    I'm playing on PS4 too, when I moved my cursor to check the pips I couldnt see any indicator like the previous ranks, neither in menu nor after a game. When I had rank 2 or more I could see the pips status, but nothing appeared on rank 1...

    Hi, welcome to the forums!

    I’m sorry to burst your bubble but rank doesn’t really mean anything, you don’t get awards from it other than bragging rights and camping/tunneling killers!

    It doesn’t matter if you live or die. Whenever or not you pip is decided by how many things you do while you’re in match such as doing generators, hook saving, healing, cleaning totems, & etc... As long as you’re doing those things, you should have no problem pipping up. It is VERY easy to pip.

    Also, from what I’m reading, the killer caused you to depip because he camped you, which prevented you from doing the amount of stuff you need to do in the game.

    After you escape/die in a match, switch to the emblem screen and it’ll tell you exactly what was needed to pip up and why you didn’t pip up.

    I know how to earn a pip and what you need to do to earn one. I never asked how to earn a pip or how to not earn them.

    What I asked is how the deranking system works AT rank 1.

    Also, unlike many, I do care about my rank score so if you don't you are free to do that! But that's not my case.

    Thanks for the effort though, even if I already knew the things explained above!

    I piped up to 2 points after I got rank 1, then I've lost a game and I got already deranked to rank 2.

    So there isn't even a safety for keeping rank 1? You just need to lose a pip to get deranked no matter how many pips you earned before that?

    If so that's a shame and no info about it appeared so I was unaware.

    enjoy rank 2 killers they all love to face camp if I were you I'd DePip to around rank 5 and 6 . at least you'll get killers who try to play instead of those bots

    There are no pips at rank 1, so if you depip you go to rank 2 with 4 pips. At rank 1 all you need is a safety pip to keep your rank. IMO there should be 1 pip at rank 1 only because you can have 1 bad game and depip very easily, but to have 2 in a row is way less likely.

    Thanks a lot for being clear, I'll just play without thinking to reach rank 1 again but I will when I'm close to season end!
