How'd I'd reduce the overall gen speed without actually making gens take longer
So i thought of something such as gas for the generator that is needed to work on the generator and it works in a way sort of like toolboxes.
So randomly around the map you can find 7 red fuel canisters and these fuel canisters will take the spot of items when picked up and one canister will fill up one generator to start working on it meaning the early game will be less about immediately hopping on a generator and popping one before anything happens and more about finding canisters or moving them near generators to work on them later.
The 7 canisters can spawn anywhere on the map with offerings to either reduce it by 1 (killer offering: ultra rare) or increase it by 1/2/3 (survivor offering: rare/very rare/ultra rare)
One cansiter takes 15 seconds (to fill up a generator) with overcharge skill checks back to back making it take up to 30 seconds if you miss every skillcheck, but will only take 15 seconds if you hit all skillchecks.
The canisters are a dark red sterotypical gas canister with dirt and grime on them to help them blend in far away but also being somewhat easy to find when close.
This i believe would solve the issue of killers feeling as though if they have a mediocre start that there game is lost while also not making generators painfully long for survivors.
