I understand hackers will always be a problem. How do they take control of your game making you shut off systems that are use to fix problems. I do understand that fixing is not easy. that is something that should never happen. A quit fix that is easy to get in and hack. Millions of people play your game and enjoy it. I may only be speaking for myself. The game is getting less fun as time goes on and some of the major issues are not being address. Maybe you do have a plan without a time a timeline. Cool just a note saying you working on it would be great. This post is not to bash you but to ask you to make the game fun again. Thanks

Not trying to ######### on your argument, but I highly doubt MILLIONS play dbd. I'd honestly be surprised if they passed 500k.

@foots I get where you are coming from but here is something to keep in mind.
There is an old saying "Give someone a foot and they'll take a mile." Sometimes it not just about a patch up. Sometimes it's leaving the gates open in spots a watch like a trapper. ;-) Certain types of hackers need to be caught - not just shut down.

im not a coder/dev yet im working on that part now. i do believe they have computers at home and are working from home now. that being said i do understand its hard no matter where you are working.

dont be so hard on them this is a touchy subject for any game dev i understand why they dont respond just knowing that they saw is ok for me. Not trying to give them an out either just trying to be fair.

I love how the devs will pop in to fight you about the game's player count, but they won't discuss what they're doing for the long-term health of the game.
That's an indication of their priorities.

Wasn't DBD a PS+ free monthly game back in 2018 too? I suppose that could of generated a good few players. Don't get me wrong, if it attracted new players, that's a good thing.

lets not bash them but try to get real answers. who knows they might be having a chat about how to address this without causing a bigger problem. Give them some time. im sure they will respond.

Plus I forgot we count "total players" as in copies sold or downloaded, not concurrent or average players. Not counting those who havent played but one time and quit, etc.
So I guess, technically, you're right by these guidelines.

My brothers and myself are both running businesses from home, one being a law office, another a major food plant that produces food for all USA groceries.
Its amazing what can be done from home these days, especially in regards to coding.
You could effectively run a gaming studio virtually.

"Active" means "played games recently". And we had "millions" of active players before mobile went live. That DbD is consistently in the top 20 games for concurrent users on Steam should tell you something. :)
As for why I can't comment on other stuff, we do regular communications about the roadmap and what we're doing for the health of the game. It's difficult to discuss such design matters outside those posts.

I think to that it's hard for them as that are a lot of posts containing various issues and ideas. Can you imagine if they addressed them all -fixes would takes decades. 🤣

you have to expect an answer like that. at the same time I glad they read what i had to say. We dont know what they plan to do to fix some of these issues. They may have a big one and dont want to release it yet or they could be working on ideas. For now ill take that answer and wait for them to make the next big post. just hope its sooner then later.

As you might not be aware, many things cannot be discussed because they are in development or in discussion for future developments - no upcoming things that have not been released publicly will ever be answered by anyone on this forum including the Developers.

As it should be. The whole point of a business is to make money and if people are enjoying the game as it is then there isnt a need to change anything. The game could be trash and everyone hate it but if people play it then why should they care? They shouldn't. They should care about money because if the game truly is bad and enough players leave or they dont get enough money then theyll know something has to change.
Their priority shouldnt be something like the health of the game, thats not as objective as how much money the game makes.

I believe most dev make a game to make money but also to be proud of what they have made and care about it enough to keep it in good shape. they have to make money or how can they make it better. we all hope or at least i do they find that balance where most updates are not just to make money. cosmetic but real changes that effect in a positive way.

also devs i see you working on the ranking system. VERY NICE. i always wanted to see if their was a plan or idea of another play type that is un-ranked. for example i have a couple of friends that i have gotten to play. They have all quit because when we play we dont always play at rank 20 and they get dumped on. the new rank system could help fix that but at the say time i think another play type we can go into and just learn the game while not worrying so much about how it will effect our ranks and still be able to upgrade our far from ready character.

They will never give out info that hasnt been mostly finalized. Think about the forums every time they announce something. It turns into a warzone of people bashing the devs cause they dont like the idea, or survivors vs killers, or a million thats it i quit posts.
And even if they say, hey, we are working on Jason and we think there is a good shot at him coming in. People take that as, OMG jason coming next chapter. Then when the chapter gets announced the flame wars begin.
While i think money is the priority for any business, you dont make money by not trying to make the best product you can. The Devs seem to play and love this game. Give them a little credit that they dont want to play a bad game.

now im back and focused lets talk about some stuff. how do you put a fix into the game and now it's worst then before. you hit someone and they are not hit or you hit someone and it misses. so many time go to hit someone and it doesnt hit them but hits a wall or a pallet. then they vault a window or pallet. then if i go to hit someone it goes through them and hit the person behind them im really lost on that one. i know i have 30-40ms but damn. yes i know suviors are supposed to do gens ok i get that but i could find them at the start 10sec into the match chase 2 of them then boom 1-2 gens are done in 1-1.5mins into the game. another game were 1 down and im so far behind not fun dont want to play anymore. then after every game i have to listen to them cry because i tunneled/camped ######### should i do you are doing 1-2 gen every min. then let me not try a new build game over 2.5-3 min no slow down perks. then i know i have a super slow pc 3900x 2080ti and a 21:9 monitor but damn when i down someone and they fall half way across the map and are healed before i can get to them. also when i hit some time yes i know they get a boost to speed but sometime its like the flash speed. maybe i need a better computer or more isp speed 1g isnt enough to run this ok.

Generally when game companies talk about active players they talk about people who login and play at least 1 game per month. Saying they have millions of active users is probably true.

Crossprogression is only available for Steam/Stadia/Switch in September BUT xbox/ps4 can't do crossprogression

no matter how we look at it A LOT of people play this game. So we all have to understand that they can not focus on just one person. so i understand why they said what they said about how many people that play the game.

please undo the patch you just did cause now things are really bad grab someone off a gen if start the animations then just stop they run away and you are suck in the animation for a few sec so they get away with no way to counter it. just stand there and let them finishes the gen or get away.

oh come thats corrupted data. On steam alone we have nearly 70% of the entire playerbase who started DbD not achieving the "level one character to level 25" achievment. Most accounts are dead or just smurf.

We have millions of active users. People who have played within the last month. It's true there are a lot of dead Steam accounts; anyone with a copy can make a new Steam account and loan the game to themselves. Which is why I report "active users".

Someone just told me they got the game on window store and cause i have it on steam we cant play? i can see ps4 and xbox but pc to pc im not sure what the hold up their?
