Devs: I think there might be an SWF issue going on around these parts. To fix, or not to fix?
Pretty sure you can see that.
Do you think it's a problem though? If so, are there options that you are looking at?
One players POV: (I play survivor badly - killer worse lol So now I mostly do Survivor.)
I've been playing two months about now and have run into a fair number of SWF's. Sadly, my experience has mostly not been one I can say as positive.
I have played in the following scenarios that can actually ID:
- Solo with a 3 man SWF (Teammates)
- Solo with a 2 man SWF (Teammates) and a Killer with them.
- Solo with a 2 man SWF (Teammates)
- Solo with a 3 man SWF (Teammates) and a Killer with them.
Most of these games have been miserable. Grieving, sandbagging, cheating, farming teammates for points for themselves only, body blocking teammates etc. I have only had a handful of games, and they were with a couple of Solo with a 2 man SWF (Teammates) that were good, fair and nice.
My fav (and this is saractic) was getting killed straight away by the killer and having a teammate teabag my dead body. Yeah - that happened lol 🤣 Funny at first but that kind of behavior gets old fast - and yes, I know we can report it.
What I'm reading from the Killers side of things is there making it impossible for them to have a decent, fair game.
From the survivors side, being their teammate, it's quite similar.
It's getting pretty heated at times.
I totally get wanting to play with friends and have fun but I have to draw the line when their fun ends up in someone else's misery because they've abused the privilege of playing as a group. Many have not sorted out that their "rights" to do things end where someone else's "rights "begin.
In fairness there are other people here that have had more good experiences with SWF than bad. I really wish I could say the same but they exist too and of course we need to respect how they want to play as well.
One idea that has floated around is to ID them in the lobby. From my perspective I don't think it's a bad idea. Then I have the choice if I stay in the game, or leave to find a game I'd be better suited in. This is especially true if there is a killer in that SWF group.
The killers user name really should be part of the lobby. Not the killer they are playing -just the user.
I have certain people blocked for a reason and I doubt I'm alone in that too.
With all that said. Are you seeing this as a problem the way many users are? Is there a plan in place to address this in the upcoming months?
I know this is just what you need to hear, more problems.... so here is a meme for you:
And here is some Coffee to help you get through this:
Have a great day!

The problems listed were not inherently problems with a SWF. A solo queuer could sandbag or work with the killer, too. Sorry you had poor teammates.

Valid point. I have had solo teammates out me to killers and sandbag me etc. I can't say I haven't. They are much rarer than in an SWF though. At least in my experience.
Also, I wouldn't think the SWF wouldn't have too much of an issue being ID'd though. If they are playing in a fair manner - it makes them look good and many people wouldn't opt out of a lobby when they see a team. :-)
Thanks for that. It really does suck when you have mean teammates. I can handle "not good at the game" as I'm right there with them in terms of skill level but when it's purposefully done it does get old fast. :-( and it gives the decent SWF's a really bad rep.
