I just have this question cause I know a part of dbd is customization and I was wondering how people felt about having new types of outfits where you can't mix and match.

    They're okay

The only two examples we have so far are fairly underwhelming, but I don't think the concept can't be implemented in a satisfying way.

I like buying cosmetics seperately most of the time. I don't care about pants, so now with combined sets, I need to pay more cells.

Potentially unpopular opinion: I've always felt that they're a really cool addition and a lot of people are just miffed for really petty reasons.

I will absolutely agree and concede to a few points: for example the price of a Legendary Skin which is no different in quality from any other skin being 15$ goddamn 3/4th's the price of the game and twice the cost of a normal ######### chapter is absolutely outrageous.

There are also a few select outfits sets that just don't seem like they should be outfit sets. IE Pyramid Head's "The Corrupted" and Cheryl's "Starting Over" & "Moving On" sets all seem like cosmetics that you should be able to pick apart and wear the individual pieces of. At the same time I always thought the Alessa Gillespie cosmetic should have been labeled as a legendary outfit because it technically changes the person (Yeah, I know Silent Hill lore says they're supposed to be the same person or "two halves" of the same person or whatever, but let's be real. It's a different person with a different personality, experiences, etc.). As an afterthought: it was a serious cop-out and extremely lazy for them not to model Alessa's face and just re-use Cheryl's for that cosmetic. So there seems to be a decent bit of wiggle room around what should be a legendary outfit set, what should be an outfit set, and what shouldn't be an outfit set.

Outside of these two gripes, I see no reason why Outfit sets shouldn't be a thing. They simplify work for the artist so they can be created more quickly, and at the same time we get to see these really cool outfits in their entirety as they were meant to be worn.

Not to mention, the mere concept of Legendary skins alone opens up so many doors for new licensing opportunities. Characters that aren't big enough, or perhaps for some reason aren't attainable as their own full chapters, could easily be incorporated as legendary skins.

We may unfortunately never get to see an F13 chapter due to the lawsuit which concerns the original film, but we might very easily be able to see legendary skins of Jason from any of the subsequent sequels for Trapper. At the same time, many other beloved characters that we never got to see as unique characters like Robin or Billy from Stranger Things or maybe Detective Eric Matthews from SAW as another example. We might see these characters as Legendary skins for those chapters.

I don't really care for them because I get cosmetics to customize and combine with other ones.

Most don't really warrent needing to be forced together.

If they have special animations/sounds to them maybe but I doubt that will ever happen given the amount of spaghetti code there is in the game that could prevent that from ever happening.
