"leading this character to overperform compared to other Killers"
My favorite line in the patch notes. So tired of hearing how 'perfectly balanced' Billy was from killer mains the last few weeks.

Wanna know another quote from the devs? "We are mostly happy with hillbillys performance and there's plenty of counterplay for the survivors".

Except that is not the quote.

"Keeping with the theme of everything chainsaws, The Hillbilly is also receiving some changes in this update. For the most part, we are happy with the way The Hillbilly performs. His power is very versatile, allowing him to quickly traverse the map, zone out Survivors and instantly down them. From a Survivor’s perspective, there is also a reasonable amount of counterplay, leading to interesting chases where the best player often comes out on top"
Big surprise it was a lie.

Nothing in there implies to me whatsoever that base power Billy was broken. Some add on combos needed to be removed/tweaked, I don't think anyone argued that. But basekit Billy was fun to play as and against. Now he's frustrating to play as and boring to play against because "counterplay" is starting to mean "let them remove their own power and then you win"

For the most part
Meaning they didn't want to change what he could do, just give him limitations. They still wanted him to be able to quickly traverse the map, zone out survivors and instantly down them. And he can still do all that.

check it out for yourself then.
its literally the first sentence they provided us with when it came to the Hillbilly changes.

man, if you really think devs have any kind of knowledge whatsoever in balancing, you're dead wrong.

Well, different people from BHVR writing different posts. It's not easy to act as a whole company.

Except now it's a "choose two" like those old style memes. "Pick two. Social life, good grades, adequate sleep." "Pick two. Traverse the map, zone survivors, instantly down survivors." You don't have the heat to adequately do all three anymore.

Now you have posted a quote. See how the third sentence starts with the phrase 'For the most part'. That phrase modifies everything that comes after it. Which means that there are some things they were not happy with, thus the nerf. See how that works. Reading comprehension.

All you had to do was put time into survivor, especially solo and you could see it.
Say you go against most other killers and you’re win/loss is 50/50, but everytime you go against a Billy you realize that 9/10 games he’s winning, there’s something off with that killer.
No its not always bad survivors. Average Billys were wrecking average survivors time and time and time again. Because when you have access to double speed and unlimited instadowns with minimal punishment or cooldown all it takes it one bit of luck in a 10 minute game to pull off a snowball the survivors cant come back from.
Unless you were lucky enough to be given 4 good loopers you werent making it out the exit gates against a Billy.
I think new Doc is in the same boat. He’s not as overpowered as Billy was but hes probably too strong for how easy he is to play. I notice Docs tend to win almost all of their games. Theres no need to build up madness now, you just press a button and find survivors instantly. There’s no timing at loops now, you just spam shock and you’ll get them. Dont get me wrong old Doc was garbage and new Doc isnt as overpowered at the highest level but he probably needs a little more skill to his power to balance him out for average players. As it stands now an average killer can pick Doc and destroy an average survivor team with multiple gens remaining. I would bet money he’s overperforming to some degree.

I'm a survivor main and thought Billy was fine. Insta saw Billy was my only gripe about him.

This + the overall community perception just tells me billy was fine besides addons.

So was nurses basekit before big surprise hes like nurse now.

yes I feel the same about nurse. I only had issues with her addons making her busted.

Look up the difference between quote and paraphrase. What they said was a quote was not actually what was said.

I play survivor almost exclusively solo, and I loved Billy. Just like I loved old Nurse (assuming no add ons). Anything that encouraged actual interesting play beyond "run in a circle" or "Press W to win" ...I love mindgames, and seeing the devs systematically remove them with these "add on passes" is getting increasingly frustrating for me.

and just because they didnt word it 1:1 like the devs did its suddenly false?
all they did was shortening it a bit, the overall message that was delivered was the exact same in both sentences.

Not wording it 1:1 means its not a quote. It leaves out the phrase 'for the most part' which changes the meaning of the rest of the sentence.

Just going to put it out there. I have seen a lot more Freddy's, Spirits, and Huntresses in high ranks than I ever seen Hillbilly's. Yes Hillbilly was up there, but I would only put him before Nurse.
