How are they determining Killer Skill Level

I'm curious, how exactly are they determining this? Is is based off of your in-game devotion level? Is it based off the killer's level or prestige level (which means nothing as I've dumoed Bp into plenty of killers I've barely even PLAYED yet)? Is it based off total playtime (either just on that killer or whole account playtime)? Is it based off stats that we can't see like: total kills with the killer, avg kills per match, how we pip, what emblems we do well or struggle with? What exactly?

Good question, i assume it will be some kind of ELO System. Maybe a Dev wants to give us information about it?

I'm willing to bet it's nothing special - it probably just counts how many games you had with that killer total, how many you won (3+ kills) and how many you lost (>2 kills), quality of badges earned at different tiers of the rank system (for instance how many iridescent at rank 1 games), your devotion level..probably it also has some coefficient for games where you used addons and moris and that's about it.

They won't explain the new system. They will say it's to make sure it doesn't get abused but probably the explanation is that the new system makes extensive use of the old system and as such, not much has changed, other than giving it a PR spin.

That's what I'm afraid of tbh. Like that the way they're determining "skill" with certain killers is just super shallow. Like if it goes off your Lvl with that killer then I guess I'm great at Nurse! (I am not great at Nurse)

If it's based off Devotion Lvl I got most of that by playing Surv, so that means nothing.

Like I'm just honestly worried that this is going to fix nothing in the long run. Just a pretty band-aid to make it look like the problem's gone away when it really hasn't.

The power of placebos is incredible.

I remember seeing many threads on here after they launched the system on xbox and people who were playing on pc thought it was active on pc as well and started making threads about how great the new system is and how they noticed a real change after a few games with the "new" system.

All the while nothing was changed, it was just the way their brain worked and the placebo they got from thinking it was active.
