Why doesnt 2nd wind work with deliverance?
So second wind activates after you heal another persons full health state, amd wont activate at that time if you are already broken. Then when you get off a hook your broken for 30 seconds while you heal. Deliverance makes you broken AFTER jumping off a hook for 60 seconds, so together you should either heal and then have 60 seconds of broken OR heal after the 60 seconds is up. Instead, your broken 60 seconds and second wind stays activated until your next hook, so the next time it will actually heal you. This doesnt make sense.

@Peanits can you help me understand this?

Because you can't be healed while broken. So when second wind would have activated you were unable to be healed. I suppose the could reprogram it to cover this circumstance. But given the rarity of this being an issue I wouldn't bank on it.

@thrawn3054 second wind makes you broken when you heal though, so you are broken when you heal. Its also weird that second wind and adrenaline work but this doesnt.

Second Wind makes you broken as punishment before rewarding you. Its a trigger. If the trigger doesn't happen, no reward.

@AVoiceOfReason yes but that doesnt answer the question.

It does. You can't be double broken and a perk can't make you broken if you're already broken. That would make no sense. It's like Yugioh. If an effect says must be sacrifice a monster on the field to counter a spell but the monster died due to a second card in the chain that activates first leaving no way to trigger the effect anymore, the effect never takes place. If you're broken, a second card heals you after you're broken for 30 seconds and it activates but your second broken is 60 seconds, you miss the activation time since you're still broken and can't be healed.

But it could activate afterwards? Just based on the way the perks are said to work it should activate is the point.

It applies a one-time heal after 30 seconds. If something else is making you broken when those 30 seconds are up, then it can't heal you because something else is still keeping you broken.

It heals you after 30 seconds. If you're broken, you can't be healed. Under normal conditions, your broken status would disappear after 30 seconds allowing the trigger to heal you. Deliverance is 60 seconds. After 30 seconds, the first perk tries to heal you but can't so it deactivates. You still have 30 seconds of broken and since you missed the trigger, it will not trigger twice. Status's will never double but if a number is higher, it will reset to the higher number. If you have 5 seconds left on MYC but unhook someone and it triggers, you're back to 60 seconds, not 65 seconds.

@AVoiceOfReason but it saves the perk until after your done being broken. And the perk goes with adrenaline and will heal you again even though your already full health

You're wanting to perks that are considered terrible to be synergized in a way, that still doesn't make them all that strong. Meh they could do it, it'd be a waste of time, but you would get a good feeling when you pull it off in game.

No it does not. It tries to heal you once after 30 seconds. It does not hold that heal until later if you are broken after that.

Your first option makes no sense, but I agree it should be 60 seconds of Deliverance broken, and then the extra Second Wind broken time then you heal.

while I had the same idea, using yugioh wasn't the best analogy here.
after all, even people that play yugioh don't get timing right. XD
"I activate this!"
"You can't, it misstimed"
"it what now?"
joking aside, good example :)

The way second wind works is. You solo heal a survivor (or coop on healing 2 survivors), second wind is now active and ready unless you were broken during the healing. Now there are only 2 ways this can be deactivated, 1. Is when it heals you, 2. Is when it tries to heal you but you get downed before the 30 seconds pass.
Now if you use deliverance, you are broken from Deliverance and unhooked. At that moment second wind tries to make you broken. But since it cant give you that status effect twice the perk doesnt do anything, and because it couldnt initiate this part of the perk it doesnt start the healing part either, and the perk just waits until you get unhooked again.
As for why it works with Adrenaline, well my guess would be that adrenaline has basically already taken effect before you even unhook. So that perks ability takes priority and heals you before it gives you broken. And if you take damage before the 30 second time window well tada, dobbelt heal.
This is ofc just speculations, based on my limited knowledge of coding and how the game seems to work. But I am also fairly certain im mostly correct.

MYC can't trigger If someone is still exposed so no.

I try my best to help with the best analogy that I would understand.

MYC definitely triggers again on a person who has MYC already. It just resets the current timer back to 60.

Nope that's why it has a 60s cooldown on it

I will not argue with you. Take care.

Okay, thanks to most of the people who both answered and explained! You are appreciated.

Yeah okay lol. Its just that by definition i feel they should work, however reworking all the systems to allow just this to work would be stupid.

Technically it does, you just have to wait the timers out and it takes too long to be useful most of the time

What do you mean?

You're broken for 60 seconds after Deliverance successfully triggers which makes Second Wind not trigger until the duration from both timers expire..recommend DS for this combo if youre gonna run it

Never mind, I was reading it wrong sorry. I think the 'when you're unhooked' part of SW expires in the 60 second Broken phase of Deliverance

Second wind doesnt actually go off, its still activated after deliverance goes off, so next time your unhooked it will still work
