Codename “Yemen” Discussion
Major tinfoil hat theory but hear me out. The codenames are not completely random they always have some obscure connection to the IP. Freddy’s codename was “England” which connected to Robert Englund because that who was who played the character. Any idea the name of the original Jason? Ari Lehman. Which just so happens to sound just like Yemen. You heard it here first.

Jason is understandable, but springtrap? I understand the cult following the FNAF franchise has, but I dont see it working on DBD.

I don't understand it either. I don't even see why people want more DLC when they want BHVR to focus on bugs and balancing. If people want Jason, they can play Friday the 13th and if they want Springtrap they can cuddle up to him in fnaf. We don't even need more killers, we have plenty of options, quite a few of them are already quite op enough for people to be happy with.

Dev's wouldn't be working on an IP that is still in litigation. There is zero chance it's F13 related. My guess would be a killer based on some sort of middle eastern superstition.

One code name having a bit of a connection doesn't mean they all do.
I don't see how Finland connects to Saw, Guam to the Curtain Call chapter, Haiti to Shattered Bloodline, Kenya for Darkness Among Us, Mali for Demise Of The Faithful, Oman for Ghostface, Qatar for Stranger Things, Sweden for Cursed Legacy, Ukraine for Chains Of Hate and Wales for Silent Hill.
So, to me, the England code name seems to be nothing more than a cheeky little reference and a pretty amusing one.

Possibly. Certainly a lot more likely than Jason, Springtrap or an Al-Qaeda suicide bomber. But as Mojo just pointed out the code names bear little to no resemblance to what the actual content is.

It’s almost like there are different people that want different stuff..
also Jason is even wanted by the devs and only thing in the way is licensing issues (and of course once that is settled negotiations with license holder and their willingness). He is the one most iconic slasher that is missing in this game.

If we are talking briefly about FNAF, I think Foxy would be a better fit. Think about it. No one has an idea on what Springtraps mechanics would be since he would just appear for his jumpscare in the fnaf games, but Foxy always would pounce on you for his jumpscare. So, we could have some sort of pounce attack as Foxy's big attack.

Pretty sure what happened is that the devs named the Freddy files "England" as a joke, since the actor's name was Robert Englund. Since then, every new DLC has been named after a random country for the sake of the big funny and there isn't really any further connection.
I mean, how is Oni connected to Sweden? Or Legion to Kenya? Or Spirit to Haiti?

FnaF 1-3 Foxy would be the same as Springtrap. 1 he just ran down a hall and Peek-a-Boo's you at the door. 2 was Mangle and again, Peek-a-Boo's from darkness. 3 was a Ghost. 4 however, that could work. Since he did 'build' himself inside the Closet unless you checked on him, Foxy could be used that way for DbD. Secretly mark a locker to 'build' yourself and if a survivor doesn't check it in time, they become injured if they get close to said locker.

Fnaf 4 Foxy would be both fun and terrifying lol. Fun for the killer putting themselves together, terrifying for the survivor not knowing which locker will "scare" them.
It would be funny if they added fnaf 1 Foxy's hallway run tho.

The codes are purely random, I'm affraid. No clue within them, with the exception to "England"
However, were there to be one in some fictional parallel universe, my money is on Alien because of the following (extremely tedious) quote:

Yet again, before this is taken down, I'll just say this. The codenames basically mean nothing except for the one time with England but that's a stretch. And to repeat what has already been said, the F13 franchise is sadly still in legal hell. However, if they see a license that can be mended into the world of DBD, and, more importantly, will make a LOT of money, they'll seek it out and acquire it.

Jason in DbD would not only bring them alot of money because people would want to play him in another game but the crowd who still to this day pit the "who is the better killer? freddy or jason?" into a money throwing frenzy if people knew both were in the same game because they would try to prove a point that X killer is better than Y killer because look how often i win games compared to Y.

Not really. Some codenames have connection with the killer. The first one was Leatherface with "Canibal";next is Freddy with "England"; Pyramid Head with "Walles" and here's the explication: someone said (and it was true in my opinion) that "Walles is a country predominant of hills which makes referince to Silent Hill"; anotherone was Ghostface with "Oman" code name and here's the explication: Ghostface was the 3rd anniversary killer. In "Scream 3" The real name of the killer (Ghostface) was Roman. If you "cut" the first letter it remains Oman which was his codename. The otherones i don't know their explications yet.

I'm coming back with the Oni's codename (which is Sweden). In Sweden " ONI is a unit who's members are all active Law-Enforcement Officers". Coinncidence or not, this may be a clue from the devs.

Now on topic, I believe the codenames have some meaning, it has been quite well detailed in a previous post, but Yemen could possibly mean anything and I don't understand this obsession with Jason in DBD... just play Friday the 13th !
