So I Started Playing Solo Queue
So out of 10 games I played to test the waters things didn't go great in 3 games. The other 7 played out like it would normally do if you did SWF and the team I was with was coordinated with me. I checked their friends lists, and they didn't have each other added. Now what happened in those other three games. One played out decently though.
Game 1 - At the very start of the game I am spawned right by Plague and she starts going for me. After about a minute of being chased I go down, first gen is popped. Good so far.
The Quentin gets me off hook even though Plague is there again and I go down, again. Hit my DS and ran off. Later into the game. I get my second hook and there's only two gens popped. (No she did not go for me after hitting DS, went for other Feng near by. While on second hook, Quentin is crouched in the Jungle Gym area near me and not getting the save even though Plague is near by.
Game 2 - Almost exactly the same as first game except different survivors and killer.
Game 3 (the decent game) - There was a Bill, Nancy, Meg, and me (a Feng). We are up against Pyramid Head on Ormond. So before one gen is even popped, Meg is hooked. I see someone near her so I don't wanna rush for the save when someone is there. For some reason the turn away, so I finish the totem I was cleansing and go for the save.
Meg killed herself on hook. No worries though, the other two are with me. Nancy pops our first gen, Bill is hooked. I run for the save and see PH was camping I unhook with BT, Bill takes the hit and I try taking one for Bill, but he gets tunneled.
Nancy started distracting the killer as I get the unhook on Bill, by now I popped a gen while Bill got tunneled, and another gen with Nancy, three gens are done. Nancy goes down, I am injured, gets the save because PH missed trying to prevent me from getting the unhook, PH tries going for me but looses me. Finally I pop a gen by myself and is halfway through another, Pyramid Head was patrolling the area I ran from thinking I was there. He finally finds me and downs me (was still injured). So now I am on my first hook, Nancy pops the gen I was on, and I thought she would go for the save cuz she's not dead-on. Nope. Instead she opens the exit gate triggering EGC.
Bill who is injured and dead on gets me off hook, he goes down and is about to be hooked, my adrenaline popped and I started bodyblocking, PH only swung once hitting me. Bill and I get to the open Exit Gate while Nancy was on the other. She gets sent to a cage in killer shack, on the opposite side of the map.
Risking everything with the timer halfway I go for the save, when I am in front of the cage, she kills herself, now there's about 10 seconds left, I can't make it back to the Exit Gate. I only escaped cuz I knew where hatch was, Bill and Nancy were SWF.
Conclusion - Solo Queue isn't that bad unless you get bad teammates. Will I play solo queue again? Yes, when I play SWF my teammates are to scared to take risks, in solo queue sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't.

Did neither the bill nor the nancy run kindred? you'd think kindred is standard for swf to tell someone if anyone's coming to save them...

I almost always play Solo. And if i play SWF, then only with my GF since i dont have any other friends who play DbD. Solo CAN be a pain in the pineapple but thats not always the case.
Same like everyone says to the killer ,,Not everyone plays SWF and is a deathsquad!"
The same thing applies to solo. Not everyone is a potato and lead you to a lose.

Solo que is fine if you have good teammates, I've seen no-one say otherwise. But it is this unfortunate fact that breeds a lot of survivor entitlement, I.E: "My teammates suck so I need strong perks and items. Don't you dare touch my DS/UB/DH/BT/Key build or I'll never be able to play again."
Not a great argument, and this comes from a solo player. Teammates are the issue, and I can safely say that most games have at least 1 potato that can lose a match by themselves, but if all good solo's were matched with good players then everyone would quickly realise that SWF isn't the real issue with DBD.

Neither ran Kindred, I checked

Solo q is still a pain with bots

My main build is Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, and whatever fourth perk I run. Like @Demonl3y Everytime you play solo doesn't mean you'll get stuck with potatoes. This was just meant to be a test for the whole thing with solo being compared to SWF, do I entirely agree?
No, because there is still that lack in communication between the teammates if the are all solo queue. But I don't disagree with it either, what I learned from the experiment is experience in the game plays a key role in how you and your teammates play. One may be better at looping and takes the killer off your hand without words being spoken. It's all in analyzing how your teammates operate.

Yes, I admit it is but keep in mind, I only got 2 terrible games out of 10 with a game that went somewhat well. No, I am not calling them terrible because I died, but because they were crouching around doing nothing. People who had borrowed time didn't get saves, for example. They all just did whatever they wanted. There was lack in coordination.
The SWF group with Nancy and Bill had that coordination but Nancy made the Bill who was injured and dead on get the save instead of her who was fully healed and only on second hook. Just because there's communication doesn't mean you're good.

Eesh, this makes me feel quite good about my swfs. at least one of us runs kindred... thought we're too... chaotic... to be useful...

I just hit 800 hours in solo surv to match my 1000 hours as killer.
Gives you a good insight into the game from both angles.

So you tell me SWF is not common, but some people actually never solo queue? Hmm...!

Kindred is definitely a necessity in solo queue I will not argue against not it's very useful when you cannot communicate with your teammates. even if it's just a two-man survive as friends if one of you isn't going for the save and one of the randoms is then you'll be able to know that the random is going for that safe and not you or your teammate.

I only play in solo queues because well i dont know of this thing you call friends...😁
But I don't think playing solo is as bad as some people make it out to be, i have however had team mates who just will not take any risks at all, but if there is even the slightest chance to pull it off i will always take the risk.
The only time i won't take any risk is when my team mate is put down and is getting taking to get hooked and i am on the other side of the map and know 100% that they are on death hook.. as by the time i get there it is already too late

I never said Survivor friends isn't, nor was I trying to make that point, my point was that you won't always get stuck with potato teammates you actually might get really good teammates who are able to coordinate really well without having any form of communication between everyone

so I replied except it didn't go through for some reason so I'm just going to say what I said again, but I know what you mean about taking risks because I was doing solo queue about a week ago and the killer had brought no one escapes death and they were two people on hook and we were all on Hawkins laboratory. I ended up going for the save before the totem even been found. someone messaged me after the game saying I was a real one because I went for the save when the other person just kind of dipped out.

I play solo most of the time, and usually its your teammates that screw you over. Happens mostly after rank reset. Once you hit red ranks and are paired with red ranks, it gets better, altough you still get such teammates, but less often.
