Camping Vs Honey-Potting

So I faced a squad of survivor girls in the Hawkin's Lab. I downed and hooked one girl in the stairwell (halfway up). I stayed in the general area as the map isn't that large and it was near the end of the game so most of the Gens. were up. Naturally they were going to come my way.

At the end of the game, they asked me why I camped. I said, I didn't, I was honey-potting. You were bait. If I was camping you, i.e. I had decided you were just going to die, I would have stood on the stairwell and stared at you to make a point. I was playing Michael Myers and that is kind of his thing. To me (and perhaps I'm in the minority) a camper has decided "I'M GETTING THIS KILL." If that is the goal, there is no reason to move off at all. If I'm using someone as bait, it behooves me to move far enough off or move about enough to get them to come in.

All that being said, either is perfectly fine. If you want to camp and annoy the player by staring at them with cold, dead eyes until the entity takes them, have at it. You are giving up other potential kills, points, and so on. If you want to use people as bait, and it works for you, do it. It is a perfectly valid tactic. There is NO SUCH THING as a invalid or dirty tactic within the game rules and code. The ONLY way to be a dirty cheat is to hack or try to use latency and/or bandwidth to affect others outside the confines of what is currently allowed by the Developers.

So just call me Campy Grampy if you like, I won't be offended. I prefer you not be salty. I don't complain about Survivor Traits or tactics. But if you simply have to vent, have at it. I won't be offended, just kind of pity you.
