New Matchmaking Activated on PC and Consoles?
If I read this right the update as of August 3 that the new matchmaking is now active. This means the rank doesn't matter and instead the time you have played said killer and survivor matters. I have read this article many times. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding how the new system works.

I thought at first YAY this might make it better and I might be okay giving certain killers I am not good with a shot. I was very wrong. I think as much as they consider the original rank system broke and not working we should still put it into consideration that a person current rank at least lets us know they have knowledge on how to play. This is why I think this new system is just as broken but DOES show hope!
I was trying my first time as ghostface since the new matchmaking update. I mean I played him maybe a handful of times before but this was my first time in a long time and figured okay they will team me up with people at my skill level. I was very sorely wrong. I had people looping me and dodging me left and right and teabgging me like I was not a threat at all. I managed to kill one but then my other one Deliverance and then Sprint burst out the gate. I mean I am not a bad killer so I was like what the heck happened. I get to the end score screen and three of them were in red rank and one purple and I am rank 20, haven't played killer in a long time.
Now I know what you may say, "Well the rank does not matter and it is NOW based on how much they play that survivor and you that killer." My response after thinking about this was well Rank has to count for something. I mean sure okay you may be new to a killer or a survivor but you are still rank 1 and know how to loop as survivor or the best path to cut a survivor off as a killer. I kept playing and have been seeing so many more D/C's now than ever before because just in my last game we had a Rank 1 killer and no joke 2-Rank 20 survivors and one with no perks at all. This seems to be a repeating pattern now sadly and I feel like ignoring the Rank system in favor of this new system is possibly gonna bite us in the butt as well.
HOWEVER! I do think it could turn out to be good after giving it time to get more play data on everyone maybe and then it will become balanced but currently seeing Rank 1 killers in a room with survivors Rank 14 to 20 all because that Rank 1 player never used lets say Legion is crazy. I mean the player is still Rank 1 and knows what perks work best and how to play. These Rank 20 players are not just new to the survivor or killer but the entire game most likely. I have hopes for the this new system but right now I think it is having issues.
Sorry for the very long post and was wondering if anyone has noticed this odd mix of ranks in the past 24 hours? Thanks for any feedback anyone else is seeing or having. =) Have a great day my fellow DBD players.

It takes around 10 games for the MMR to settle and until then expect some wacky games

Thank you for the feedback! I have played about 8 or 9 and the ranks are more crazy then ever. I mean I know we keep saying Rank means nothing and that it should matter the persons skill with the survivor or killer. The problem for me is let's say the Rank 1 just picked Hag for the first time ever so now the game is gonna look for someone new to a survivor they are not familiar with either.
If that is the case we could still get a Rank 1 player new to Hag against a just bought the game Rank 20 survivor who is new to David. Yes the rank 1 is new to hag but has a general idea of how to play. The Rank 20 yes is new to David but has no idea how to even move and pops gens and pokes the killer. lol
Rank still should be slightly considered because even though I never used Jeff as a survivor I still know how to loop and what perks to use. Rank yes is easy to get but is still shows you played enough to know what you are doing.
IT is gonna be a rough week of matches I think but I have hope or at least will pray this works? lol

Last night was absolutely a horriblle experience that I had not had since my first day playing the game.
I was the only red rank in every single match I played, for almost 5 hours I got matched up with people who had no idea how to play the game. I mean, they were trying to heal me versing plague when my infection was still climbing, meaning I would be broken status in about 30 seconds but they were healing me. Then cleaning after getting infected.
Every game felt weird and as killer no one was doing gens but hiding like I was versing rank 20s and I was red rank killer.
People with 9000+ hours getting paired with people with 42 hours, 42 !!!!

yeah ive been experiencing some pretty weird #########.
like i aint played bubba since 2018 and im out here getting sweat squads whilst trying to do my adept then on like game 4 suddenly bam potato into potato into potato into bam sweat squad and im like,

EDIT: Oh also don't worry survivor MMR is shared. If you're a high MMR as Claudie you'll be the same as David and Jeff and Jane and everyone else. Only killers are seperate.

Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be true, I’ve played more than 10 survivor games and the matchmaking has stayed wacky.

Same, I played way more than 10 matches yesterday and all were terrible, not a single fun match.

Yeah all my games were super crazy. I even figured okay I will play legion another killer I played maybe 5 times but have not played in like 4 months. I had survivors all but BOOPING my nose and laughing at me. Once again almost all Red Ranks and one Green. I was like okay this new matchmaking is not working and in fact making this very bad.
My last game was against a doctor a RANK 1! We had 3 D/c's in that round too. I mean I did not blame them and the killer even gave up because it was to easy. The survivors were not doing gens and just trying to hide and you could tell they were either completely new to the game or had less than 10 hours. I just shook my head like this is gonna be a looong week.
I also have had matches were I never see the killer when I play survivor and then had matches where the killer is everywhere and it makes no sense. At the moment there is no sense of the matchmaking and goodluck to you all! =)
