Why is MMR hidden?
Why?
We should be able to see where we are in the spectrum, and also see other's MMR to reflect how you played during the match against/with a stronger/equal/lesser teammate/opponent(s) so you can improve

Supposedly to prevent people from being able to manipulate it (which already happened with ranks anyway and is going to happen regardless of if they can see it or not) and so people don't feel bad seeing their own MMR (not a joke).
Honestly I can't think of a single good reason for it to be hidden other than preventing people from calling them out when it isn't working properly.
I can however think of some serious negatives of it such as confusing the heck out of new players that have no idea what's going on, among others. There's a reason almost all other games show their MMR.

There is no logical reason why the MMR is hidden.
The only thing we can see clearly now is that the system is not working. Honestly, we can't even tell if the system simply isn't working or if it even doesn't exist in the first place.

That's the funny part. Hypothetically the entire thing could be completely made up and we'd have no idea since it's hidden.
Not saying it is, just pointing out the hilarity of having it hidden.

Exactly. I feel like we can upgrade "the MMR doesn't exist" from tinfoil to a valid theory at this point.

they hid all ratings because they don't want to hear complaints about match making. now they can say "MMR is working properly even if no players can confirm it".

I can give you the reason why they hide the MMR:
So we can't prove that it's absolute garbage nonsense.
Yesterday I was rather chill about it because I still had hopes but nothing has changed and the matches remain incredibly unbalanced.

Feels like it.
But of course we can still tell that the MMR isn't working.

That's honestly what I am suspecting. They just opened up the matchmaking to match against the first available player/killer in queue and called it their new MMR system.
There's not many competitive games out there that outright ignore MMR to their players. You've always been able to tell if you're going up or down in a system. BHVR's hiding their system because it doesn't work.

Well they thought it would solve the insane queue times!
It's either good matchmaking or good waiting times - can't have both :-(

There is a logical reason. They don't want it to be exploited just in case (very likely) it is not bullet proof. Another one would be that they don't want the forums to spam "DUDE You produced the greatest CRAP right here, cuz I know it BETTER" (which is the reason why we don't get stats anymore btw)
Just two possible samples. Not sure if you mean "technical" reason, but denying logic seems a bit much
