Taking One For The Team Achievement
I'm a little confused on the requirements to get this achievement. I've seen an old post from a Dev saying that you need to get the 100 Bloodpoint Protection scoring event. However, there have been games where I've gotten it several times and not gotten any progress for the achievement and there have been games where I've gotten that scoring event once and I gained three points of progress. Just thought I'd see if anyone knows so I can have some clue as to how I should be playing to earn it.

I recently got this achievement but sometimes it didn't give me points when it should have or so I thought. I eventually started hook bombing survivors even if it got me killed just to get it out of the way. Main thing I noticed is the survivor had to be injured or I didn't get a point although that's probably just a coincidence. That and unless I took a hit within 5 or so seconds of unhooking the survivor I usually didn't get the point.

Either way I'm on the same boat as you. I honestly have no idea how to consistently get points for the achievement but I got it out of the way at least.
Disclaimer - I used BT and made sure all survivors I hook bombed lived at all cost even if I got sacrificed for it.

You need to get the 300 protection points to get the achievement. It's so random like killer has to hit you on purpose over other survivor for you to actually get this. And getting hit while killer is carrying someone doesn't count.

Yeah, that's the one. I was thinking that's what they were going for but at the same time I didn't really want to assume and start putting my teammates in a bad mood. But I will definitely use Borrowed Time because I don't want to be a jerk.

Only way I can think of ensuring that is to let them hit me before I pull the other person off the hook, and then get hit again. Would doing that mess up getting all 300 points?

Yea when you pull someone from the hook the killer has to hit you to get 300 points.

Yee.. basically easy to get if you farm the survivor off the hook.. just stay there to get hit by the killer.
